Hi everybody, I have a 2010 335d model, and ever since I purchased the vehicle (on December 27, 2009), I have noticed a slight pulling to the right of the steering wheel. When I first took the vehicle to the dealership, they simply told me there was no problem, so I drove it for almost a year and now it has about 15K miles on it. On a straight road, if I remove my hands off the wheel, it starts to drift to the right after a few seconds and, depending on the road’s banking, sometimes even more quickly. I continue to notice that the draw to the right is stronger than it was. I called the dealer and mentioned that I might be having an alignment issue, and they informed me that if this was the case, the alignment issue or tire balancing would not be covered by the 4 year, 100k mile warranty, and that I would be required to pay upwards of $300 for the alignment, among other things. Do you know if the 4-year/100-thousand-mile warranty covers tire balancing, adjustment, or both? I seem to remember reading about BMW offering free repairs for the first four years.

The maintenance does not include coverage for tires or alignment. For less than $125, you should be able to align the automobile at an independent shop. Since you don’t mention any vibration, it’s likely that you don’t have an unbalanced wheel or tire. Balancing at almost any tire shop is about $25 per tire.

Simple maintenance procedures like an oil change, brake replacement, wheel alignment, and more are all free and covered by warranties.

The majority of normal maintenance and service plans are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, saving you money on your vehicle’s maintenance.

Does the warranty include wheel alignment?

Although a new car warranty frequently offers bumper-to-bumper coverage, the majority usually excludes a wheel alignment. Given that it’s a “wear and tear” item, this also encompasses the majority of other limited warranties or extended warranties you can find. However, when buying a brand-new car, whether it be a Toyota, Honda, Lexus, Jaguar, Chevrolet, or any other make/model, the dealership should deliver it with the proper wheel alignment. Beyond that initial transfer, though, you’re on your own unless Endurance is covering your car.

With Endurance’s Advantage plan, you’ll be able to save up to $3,500 annually on routine maintenance, including a wheel alignment check, while also receiving breakdown protection similar to that provided by the basic factory warranty or an extended warranty for your car. Savings are also available on additional necessary maintenance services, such as:

However, each Advantage plan also includes a number of unique, one-time services, such as:

  • Replacement of the Battery
  • Cooling System Upkeep
  • A replacement wiper blade set
  • Savings for Three Manufacturer Service Periods or Less

All Endurance plans also offer rental car reimbursements, trip interruption services, 24/7 roadside assistance, and towing. Additionally, you can choose any ASE Certified mechanic. Other benefits include the ability to transfer your coverage to a new owner should you ever sell your car, flexible payment plans, and a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Every Endurance customer is also qualified for a year of Elite Benefits, which will provide them with even more discounts and coverage. Simply pay a small charge to have access for a year to services like tire maintenance and replacement, key fob replacement, discounts on accident repair, and even $1,000 toward a replacement car should yours ever be totaled.

Do rotors fall under the BMW warranty?

Brake pads, brake rotors, and wiper blade inserts are a few other particular items that require replacement due to normal wear and tear but are not covered by the original New Vehicle Limited Warranty, provided that wear and tear exceeds BMW wear restrictions.

Does the BMW warranty cover a tire with a nail?

The BMW Tire & Wheel Protection program offers coverage in the event that metal, nails, glass, debris, potholes, blowouts, etc. cause damage to your tires or wheels (excluding cosmetic damage). You can select a plan that provides coverage for your car for up to five years.

How frequently does a BMW need to be aligned?

Generally speaking, your BMW will need an alignment every 5,000 or 10,000 miles; however, you should always consult your maintenance manual to determine the appropriate mileage or time interval.

How can I tell whether my BMW requires an alignment?

When you notice that your BMW is dragging to one side while you are driving, is it time for a wheel alignment? The owner’s manual for most cars states that a wheel alignment is necessary, although accidents, potholes, speeding over speed bumps, hitting curbs, and other incidents can cause you to need one sooner.

BMW wheel alignment warning signs include:

  • Left or right vehicle pulling
  • fast or uneven tire wear
  • When driving straight, your steering wheel is skewed.
  • tires making noise
  • a steering wheel vibration

How can I tell if my BMW is still covered under warranty?

The only reliable approach to determine your vehicle’s factory warranty if you cannot locate the VIN number is to contact or go to your neighborhood dealership. They can tell you exactly what is and is not covered, if anything at all, but they will require the VIN number to dig up the details.

What is the price of wheel alignment?

The alignment itself will start at about $90; however, you might be able to get an alignment check for free. While costs may vary depending on region, several large national businesses have a uniform price across the board. According to Kelley Blue Book, below is one illustration of what a wheel alignment on a 2018 Ford F-150 pickup truck might cost (parts and labor) in various areas around the country (KBB).

The cost of having the wheels aligned on your car depends on a lot of things, in addition to its location.

How do you tell whether your wheels need to be aligned?

  • The automobile is swerving to one side of the street.
  • Premature or uneven wear is occurring in the tire treads.
  • The tires are making noise.
  • When you’re driving, the steering wheel tilts slightly out of center.
  • When accelerating, the steering wheel shakes.

Is the extended service contract for a BMW worth it?

In comparison to maintenance from independent repair shops, the BMW maintenance plan typically costs more. It might not be worthwhile if you drive fewer than 15,000 miles annually, which is the national average. However, if you use your car a lot, the maintenance plan might be more beneficial.

If you replace your tires, do you require an alignment?

For tires to have their full tread life, tire retailers and auto repair businesses strongly advise an alignment. An alignment ensures that the tires are centered in the wheel wells and that they are angled appropriately when they contact the road. The car receives superior gas mileage, the right road contact, a smooth ride, and long tire life when the wheels are aligned to the original specifications.

What distinguishes wheel alignment from tracking?

Wheel alignment, often referred to as tracking, examines the direction and angle of the wheels to make sure they are parallel to one another and perpendicular to the road. You have a choice between a 2 wheel (front axle) and a 4 wheel alignment (front and rear axles).

The technician will check the camber, toe, and caster during an evaluation. Toe indicates the direction the tyres point in respect to each other; camber refers to the tilt of the tire; and caster is the angle of the steering pivot as seen from the side of the car.

After evaluating the wheels, it is possible to change the tie rods and control arms to bring the alignment into alignment with the manufacturer’s recommended position.

When using new tires, is an alignment required?

Although it’s not necessary to get your wheels aligned after installing new tires, you should. All four tires should be suitably inclined with respect to the road and each other, which is ensured by an alignment.

Without an alignment, you can have a rough ride and have uneven tire wear earlier than usual, which can reduce the life of your tires. Although there are many inexpensive tires available, you shouldn’t spend money more frequently than is absolutely essential. You may get more miles out of a fresh set of tires by having your wheels aligned.
