BMW’s new roadside assistance program
BMW Group Financial Services and ALLIANZ Partners UK are creating a new roadside assistance program.
BMW and MINI owners can purchase a more basic roadside assistance package at a fixed competitive price with BMW Insured Emergency Service Essential.
The perfect package for owners to acquire at any time after this period expires is the free three-year breakdown coverage that comes standard on all new BMW and MINI vehicles.
The new service includes roadside repair or recovery to the closest BMW or MINI dealership, as well as breakdown coverage in the UK and Ireland with unlimited call outs anywhere in both countries.
Instead of requiring customers to be a certain distance from home before insurance may apply, BMW Insured Emergency Service Essential gives consumers the benefit of help from their home address.
BMW drivers can have a fixed-price solution with the Insured Emergency Service Essential package, which costs PS69 for 12 months of coverage, and MINI owners can get it for PS59. Customers of BMW and MINI have already responded very favorably to the support offerings, with overall assistance sales rising by 26%.
The plan includes coverage for automobiles with a maximum age of ten years and 100,000 miles.

Cover for Roadside Assistance
For your peace of mind in the event of any unforeseen circumstances, all new BMW motorcycles come with Roadside Assistance coverage for the first three years of ownership.
Roadside Assistance is included for a minimum of 24 months on all authorized used BMW motorcycles.
When a bike becomes immobile, assistance will be arranged. “Immobilized” refers to a vehicle that has been damaged or destroyed by fire, theft, vandalism, a mechanical or electrical failure, a road traffic accident, lost keys, a fueling error, or a puncture.
Wherever it is possible, we’ll make arrangements for one of our BMW Motorrad Customer Service Technicians to come to your location and try to fix your bike on the side of the road if you need additional assistance.
Each one has the most up-to-date diagnostic tools and Genuine Parts to maximize their abilities to fix your bike. Even better, we’ll offer you a link so you can follow their progress as they travel to you.
We can also rescue your motorcycle and deliver it to a BMW Motorrad retailer. Whether it’s a recovery place or your home address, we’ll organize recovery to your nearby BMW Motorrad Retailer.
We’ll keep you moving while we wait for your bike to be fixed. While we can’t always find a new bike, we’ll make sure you have access to a rental automobile through one of our providers so you can stay mobile. You must adhere to their usual terms and conditions and have a valid driver’s license.
If a rental car isn’t an option, we’ll support other modes of transportation to get you back on the road, such as public transportation or a taxi.
If your car breaks down more than 50 miles from your house, we’ll arrange overnight lodging if that’s more convenient for you. Within the UK, we’ll pay up to PS 100 per person for one night’s bed and breakfast for you and your passenger. If you break down elsewhere in continental Europe, we’ll pay for four nights.
We’ll try to patch the tire by the roadside if you get a puncture. If a temporary fix is not possible, we will transport you to the closest BMW Motorrad retailer, where they will provide additional assistance.
Until your BMW Motorrad Retailer can get and fit a replacement tire, we’ll keep you moving*.
*Mobility will be provided by one of our authorized rental vehicle companies. It may not be possible to rent a bike.
**Only applicable to tires purchased via the BMW Motorrad Tyre Program. In all other situations, we’ll provide up to 24 hours of mobility help.

Installing BMW roadside assistance: What should I do?
In the video below, BMW How-To demonstrates how BMW Roadside support may help you when your car breaks down or develops a technical issue. You have two options for calling roadside assistance in the event of a breakdown: straight from the warning message or through the assistance menu on the Central Information Display. As an alternative, you can call roadside assistance by phone or use the My BMW app if you are, say, outside the car. You need an active BMW ID with a connected vehicle in the app in order to use Roadside Assistance calls in the My BMW app. Open the “Call Roadside Assistance” option in the My BMW app. Accept “Share Vehicle Data” to send the call’s current location and any vehicle data. In this manner, BMW service can assist you more quickly and effectively. Choose “Call” in the pop-up menu to connect to the BMW Service call center. Your vehicle can be remotely diagnosed using the vehicle data and your description of the problem. Either a service car will be sent to your place to assist you or the issue with your vehicle can be fixed remotely. You can monitor the progress of your Roadside Assistance Request in the My BMW App. If a service vehicle is sent out, its anticipated arrival time is shown. You can follow the service vehicle’s progress by clicking the map in the Request Status.

How does BMW accident support work?
For the BMW and Mini brands in the UK, BMW has introduced a new Accident Support service that will provide customers who have been in an accident with aid and guidance as they go through the vehicle recovery and repair periods.
The service, a first for the industry, uses sophisticated on-board software on select BMW vehicles to determine whether an accident has taken place in which the airbags have not been deployed. A notification will then be delivered to the dashboard display of the vehicle. The vehicle will promptly contact emergency services if the airbags have been activated thanks to the Emergency Call feature that is built into the vehicle.
The link to upload pictures of the damage will be sent to the drivers. BMW will dispatch for the vehicle to be recovered right away if the damage is severe enough to need it to be taken off the road. In cases of incidents when no one was at fault, the service will also handle the entire insurance claim.
Users of the service will have access to an online portal where they may schedule a repair at a body shop that has been approved and monitor the status of their insurance claim and repair.
But it’s not just for the most recent models; drivers of earlier vehicles can also contact BMW and MINI Accident Support by calling a 24-hour hotline at 0344 335 0284.
