Is Ambient Lighting Standard On BMW X5?

Extended ambient lighting is listed as standard equipment. Exists information describing what is contained? I can see the dash, the sides of the doors, and the footwells, however some vids look to have lighting put on the front seatbacks while others don’t. Is this standard on all X5s, or maybe it’s a feature of the pano LED lighting that’s not available in the US?

Yes, all BMW X5 cars come standard with 4UR ambient lighting. You’ve noted the most important ones.

Yes, if you focus on the illumination on the front multi-contour seatbacks.

searching the parts database. According to Part No. 6, multi-contour seats include ambient interior illumination. It would be necessary for a forum user’s X5 with normal sport seats to confirm.

There is no illumination on the seatbacks despite the fact that I have the luxury seating package with Vernasca. Additionally, it is on the door pockets and console center.

Edit: I’m a fool; I double-checked and found it. Because of the viewing angle and the privacy glass, I was unable to observe the illumination the first time because I only peered through the window and did not open the door.

The ambient LED lighting is located on the back and underneath of the front seat, which are standard sport seats. Regardless of the color chosen, the front seat back remains constant. When a door is opened, the lighting beneath the front seats is white; when the door is closed, it changes back to the color you had previously chosen. Quite cool!

It has already been discussed on this forum. You only get ambient lighting on the rear of the front seats with luxury seating and executive packages (that’s in the US) starting with MY21 (I believe). I have a MY21 45e with premium seating, but I am missing the package. The same automobile that my cousin has, but with the executive package, is his. Other than that, all other areas have typical ambient illumination.

On the dash, there is only a single strip of lighting. Should I put it on the doors as well?

Even on the lowest settings, I find it bothersomely bright. I no longer even turn it on.

I looked up the VIN and found the following on the list:

Simply put, it seems strange that the iDrive would provide the option if the car lacks the necessary feature.

The following packages are also mine:

Update: Just had a brilliant idea: perhaps when the headlights are off during the day, the ambient lighting isn’t working?

I wonder if the ambient lighting would have come on if I had turned on the headlights.

Xenon adaptable headlights also appear to be what I have, according to the mdecoder website.

We have ambient lighting and that option on our 2015 X5 (S563A Light Package). You may alter the colors (blue, white, and orange) as well as the color combinations and brightness. It’s a good choice. I had assumed that was included in the basic equipment, so today was educational.

New BMW X5 lighting package

BMW revealed the third-generation of the X5, their best-selling SUV, earlier this week.

Production of the F15 X5 began in August 2013 at the Spartanburg factory in South Carolina. Production of the xDrive35d model begins in December 2013, and deliveries are anticipated to begin in 2014. In September, dealerships will start to receive the other two U.S. versions, the xDrive28i and xDrive35i (or sDrive35i).

Pre-configured packages and lines, which were first provided with the new 1 and 3 Series models, will now be available for the X5, starting with the Luxury Line (ZLL), xLine (ZXD), and concluding with the M Sport Package. A special car key and exclusive Line-specific 19″ wheels (with an option to upgrade to 20″ wheels) are also included with the Luxury Line and xLine models. Additionally, the M Sport Package model receives a unique key fob.

The new X5 absolutely shines inside, in my opinion. BMW has modernized the interior to new levels of luxury and gadgetry while keeping the driving-focused cockpit and sportiness.

The Lighting Package is one of the innovative and exciting new technologies offered for the BMW X5. With nine pre-defined lighting designs, this new bundle delivers ambient light designs in three different colors. The dashboard, doors, and footwells all have a distinctive glow thanks to these interior ambient lights.

Orange, white, and blue serve as the foundational colors, which are then followed by a blend of these three serene hues.

Additionally, the turbocharger keeps the torque excellent even at low engine rpm. With its wider gear range, the optional 8-speed Sport automatic transmission improves performance and efficiency.

The inside of the X5 makes a statement with every element. A sea of light enters the X5 through the Panorama glass roof Sky lounge, and ambient lighting modifies evening lighting conditions to create an even greater environment. The Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System practically ensures the entertainment of the entire cabin, while the Ambient Air Package, which is optional, offers four natural aromas that will comfort even more senses.

Along with its opulent interiors, the X5 includes a number of thoughtfully created utility features. With the Comfort Access feature, the split tailgate’s upper and lower pieces in the luggage compartment open and close electronically.

The BMW X4 from 2019 does it include ambient lighting?

The 2019 BMW X4 will be the second generation of the jelly-bean-shaped, X3-based crossover for the Bavarian automaker (BMW refers to it as a Sports Activity Coupe). We won’t discuss whether these odd middle-sized SUV/crossover/coupe vehicles should even exist or why Germany keeps producing new models here. The X4 is present, and that is a truth. Here are the specifics; driving impressions will be available early next month.

The old X4, which was manufactured from 2014 to 2018, is smaller than the current X4. It gains 1.5 inches in width, 3 inches in length, and around 2 inches in wheelbase. That should provide an additional inch or so of rear legroom and perhaps additional cargo area. The redesigned, “slightly hexagonal” wheel arches draw attention from the profile while the low overhangs are still present. The stretched and smoother sheetmetal aids in a 10% reduction in drag to 0.30.

Large storage trays, improved ambient lighting, sport seats with new designs, and door pockets are all included inside the new X4. The back seats have a 40/20/40 split for folding down, and a massive two-section panoramic sunroof lets in a ton of light. With them up, you get 18.5 cubic feet, and folded down, 50.5.

The 30i and M40 models of the 2019 BMW X4 have starting prices of $50,450 and $60,450, respectively. In July, look for our drive review.
