Utilizing the key fob is the second option. To achieve this, turn on the reverse camera by pressing the key fob’s “camera” button. Utilizing the dashboard’s buttons is the third option. To achieve this, hold down the “back” button on the dashboard’s left side until the reverse camera illuminates. The dashboard screen will show the reverse camera however you want to activate it. The same methods used to switch on the reverse camera can also be used to turn it off.
Did you know that a BMW X5’s reverse camera may also be utilized as a parking aid? Press the “P” button on the iDrive controller to accomplish this. The front view and reverse camera will then be shown side by side on a split screen. By pressing the “P” button once more while in this mode, the reverse camera can also be disabled.
The BMW X5 sports both a parking distance control system and a reverse camera. The parking distance control system employs sensors to gauge how far away an obstruction is from your automobile. The parking distance control system will begin to beep and a red warning triangle will show up on the dashboard screen if there is an obstruction in front of your car. Press the “P” button on the iDrive controller to silence the beeping. You’ll hear a beep from the parking distance control system if you approach an object too closely. Press the “P” button once again, or move your vehicle away from the obstruction, to silence the beeping.
