Why does BMW use SVT?
Today’s first coding attempt: I neglected to backup SVT. Would backing up the SVT with everything recoded to stock be equivalent to backing up an unmodified SVT?
The SVT would remain unchanged even if you coded 100 different parameters into 30 separate ECUs.
It only varies when flash programming is used to upgrade the software or firmware.
I see. Since I didn’t have a backup of my.ncd files, I decided to code back to stock. I feel secure being coded now.
Although you are free to do that, you may also simply VO code back to the factory. I never use ncd iterations with TM’s NCD / CAFD tool to reset an ECU; I just use them for comparison.
I researched TM’s NCD tool and its capabilities. I can VO code as you suggested if I desire factory settings in the future (the same as resetting the ECU).
Coded two or three characteristics. During this initial round, only FA was supported.

SVT is a nice backup option unless you’re like me and know your CAFD IDs by heart. You’ll know which NCD to load offline in FDL-Editor in this manner.
If the FA is left unaltered, it will match the information in the decoded VIN. Additionally, VCM can always be accessed. To conduct VO coding, I occasionally save them and load updated copies (for example, -6NH, +6NS).
