For the life of me, I can’t get the names of contacts to appear whenever I receive a text. For years, this tool worked well. However, all of a sudden, I am only receiving phone numbers and not contact names. I’m using iOS 13’s most recent version.
2. SiriusXM just provided a three-month trial, and despite my repeated attempts, the automobile would not get their refresh signal. The subscription is active and functions properly on my phone, so it’s unclear why the car isn’t using it.
Can the idrive computer be restarted? Any assistance would be appreciated even though I don’t necessarily want to reset it and loose all my settings.
1. It’s not your iDrive; there are many of us who are experiencing the identical problem.
2. I’ve never used SiriusXM, so I have no idea.
I think the only way to reset it is to press and hold the radio power knob for 20 seconds or till it resets.
I mistakenly believed that I was the only one whose contacts no longer shown in text messages. It used to operate flawlessly before abruptly ceasing. I repeatedly attempted re-syncing but failed and soon quit caring.
If it restarts by holding the button down, kindly let us know. I attempted this procedure unsuccessfully in my prior 2015 435i, as well as in our 2015 x5 and 2016 x6. It only worked in my 2006 328i, which was my very first BMW.
Force a reboot by long-pressing and holding the eject and mute buttons. Not exactly a reset, though. It’s the same as starting your car.
I mean, I don’t really care because I can just check it on my Apple Watch, but still. When something works for a while and then abruptly stops operating, it annoys me.
Yes, I completely concur. I’d like to see them on a screen, so strange…
I own a 2007 335 with navigation. I occasionally get auditory silence after I turn on my car. Radio, iPod, Bluetooth, and backup sensor warning are examples of this. No sounds at all. The sound will then turn off and stay that way until the next morning. My dealer informed me that the reason the car works the next day is because it resets itself after around 4 hours. Is there a way for me to make it reset faster?
My 1 series would occasionally do that. Until the seatbelt alert lit up, I would let my seatbelt hang loose. I then had sound after that. Of course in a parking lot!
Some radios can be reset by simultaneously holding power and eject for 20 to 30 seconds.

How can I factory reset the radio in my car?
A few months back, I purchased a used car, and it has been functioning flawlessly. The radio has been acting strangely lately, and when I switch it on, CODE is now shown. How can I turn the car radio back on?
In less than two minutes, find out if your auto insurance is being overcharged.
Your radio is locked if the CODE display is shown. If the car has just undergone maintenance, had other settings restored, or had the battery replaced, this is a typical occurrence.
You will need to enter a code to go beyond the car’s security system in order to open the radio. This code can be found in several places, most notably:
- in the owner’s guide. In the owner’s manual, look in the radio/stereo or security sections to find the code quickly.
- See whether the manufacturer has a database of stereo security codes by visiting their website.
- Find out whether your nearby dealership can give you the code or unlock it for you by going there.
The following measures should be used if you are unable to locate the code and the dealership or installation facility was unsuccessful in unlocking it:
- Just turn the ignition on, not the engine
- Turn off the radio.
- To reset the radio, press and hold the power button for a few minutes.
If this initially doesn’t work, hold the power and seek buttons down simultaneously or for a longer period of time. Hopefully, one of these techniques will get you jamming out once more right away!
Review your your insurance coverage and download the Jerry app while you wait for a technician to unlock your audio. Jerry is the quickest and best way to locate a car insurance plan that is specially tailored for you.
Jerry will handle the phone calls, paperwork, and renewals for your top option after giving you a thorough cross-analysis of the best plans across providers so you won’t have to. Even your old policy is cancelled!

I need to restart my radio.
If none of these guides proves successful for you, your last resort is to stop by a nearby car radio installation shop. Depending on the model of your radio, they might be able to unlock it.
You’ll recall that I said I’d demonstrate how to bypass automobile radio codes. This trick was something I recently discovered, therefore I choose to share it with you in this blog. This hack has been tested on Honda and Acura vehicles, and it is effective. The Acura ILX, Acura TLX, Acura RDX, Honda Pilot, Honda Civic, and Honda Accord are the specific models that this technique will work on. These automobiles must be 2010 model year or newer.
- Make sure your ignition is in the ON position if you want to bypass the radio security codes on these cars.
- If CODE appears, turn on your audio system and check it. If it does, stop using it.
- The radio power button should then be pressed and held down.
- It must be held for around 40 to 50 minutes. Your automobile audio system will come on and bypass the code at this time.
The makers of your cars don’t want you to know about this trick. Yes, I did precisely that. How to unlock the Ford radio without a code is a different hack I want to share with you. The above trick and this one are similar. On a Ford BA, I watched it operate. However, you can give it a shot on other Ford models to see how it turns out.
- You must turn your ignition to the ON position in order to accomplish this.
- Check to see if your radio shows CODE or LOC when it is turned on. Turn off the radio if it does.
- For roughly 50–60 minutes, press and hold both the SEEK and audio power buttons. Without requiring the radio code, it will then switch on.
