Actually, to replace switches, you don’t need to remove the knob. I swapped out mine without touching the knob. I did as follows:

Lift the central piece and wrap it around the shift boot (Has gear indicator)

2. Remove the two screws that are located on the center console’s cupholder side.

3. Release the trim piece and move it to fit your knob.

4. Unplug the cords from your switch.

5. Voila.
