Samuel and the crew decided early on in the design phase to make the BMW M 1000 RR the most impressive 1:5 scale LEGO Technic motorcycle we’ve yet to construct.
Scale, however, is only one aspect of this structure. A completely new degree of complexity and detail is possible due to the scale. The BMW M 1000 RR has realistic front and rear suspension, front steering, a stylish gold chain, three different screen dashboard options, a racing stand and display plate call, making it easier for you to show off your build. It also has a fully functional gearbox with 3 speeds + neutral that is operated by a built-in quick shifter.
In order to accurately depict the design of our next-generation motorcycle using LEGO components, Samuel explains that “we wanted to boost the scale.” We wanted to increase the amount of intricacy and challenge, similar to how we did with the gearbox.
But by increasing the scale and amount of detail, Samuel and the crew encountered particular difficulties that had to be solved. In particular, the build’s weight necessitated the development of our strongest suspension yet.
“Finding the proper force for the suspension while avoiding pushing our elements above their breaking point was quite difficult. We had to be quite exact with the spring’s breaking strength because the model weighs more than a kilo (2 lb), with the majority of that weight resting on the rear shock absorber. We couldn’t build the bike without a functioning shock absorber, which required a lot of time and effort to develop.”
The effort has fortunately paid off, and Samuel hopes that the degree of detail will excite and motivate enthusiasts of both motorbikes and LEGO Technic.

How much time is needed to construct a Lego BMW?
Depending on how much you like constructing Technic, you may or may not think that the LEGO Technic 42130 BMW M 1000 R is worth its PS174.99 price tag. I spent more than 10 hours assembling the set, which I consider to be a task well worth the time. The finished model is equally gorgeous. Despite having more than 500 less pieces, it costs the same as the LEGO Technic 42100 Land Rover Defender. Additionally, some individuals might be turned off by the absence of motorized functionality (although you would generally expect to pay much more for that). But what you do receive is a fantastic set that will draw everyone’s attention when it is on display, as well as the largest LEGO motorcycle ever produced (so far).
It is strongly advised if you like motorbikes and enjoy putting Technic sets together.

How do you speed up a Lego vehicle?
The Ultimate Indoor LEGO(R) Playground and ideal location to put your LEGO(R) car-building talents to the test is the LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan. In “Build & Test,” one of the facility’s several LEGO(r) Play Zones, you can challenge other builders to a race to see whose car is the fastest. Two gigantic ramps can be found there, one of which has an extremely steep hill and the other of which has a timer so you can watch your speed.
Clint P., the Master Model Builder at the Discovery Center, declared that one of his favorite areas at LEGOLAND(r) is the Build & Test section. “My brother and I used to construct vehicles of all sizes and forms and race them down the uneven driveway when we were kids. We would have preferred to race our vehicles at these Build & Test ramps instead due to the rough terrain, which was obvious.”
Clint offered the following advice for accelerating your LEGO(R) race car:
Make it heavy, first! Build with lots of LEGO(R) bricks if you’re building for a downhill race to increase your speed! 2. Check to see whether your tires are rubbing on your car’s side! 3. Larger LEGO(R) wheels typically move more quickly than smaller ones. 4. Technic axles and wheels are faster than clip-on wheels, so use these if you can! 5. To improve aerodynamics and reduce the likelihood of it toppling over, construct your vehicle low to the ground. 6. Allow enough space between your front and rear wheels to reduce the likelihood that the vehicle will swerve and crash. 7. There is no need for more than four wheels. Your car will move more slowly as more wheels are added because of increased rolling resistance. 8. On the front, use fenders (covers over the tires) or a broad bumper. In this manner, even if your automobile collides with something, it might still roll! 9. Embellish your car with flames or a rocket engine. Although it won’t actually make it faster, it will look fantastic!
How is a LEGO airplane made?
- Use a 2 by 12 that is flat as the base.

What should I construct using Legos?
How to introduce LEGO(r) to young children is a question we occasionally encounter. What to buy and at what age? We have been really impressed with the new LEGO(r) Classic sets that were recently launched. They have a good variety of bricks in various colors, coupled with wheels and other unique parts that allow for the construction of some amusing creations. The lads and I came to the conclusion that it would be entertaining to compile a variety of items that may be constructed solely from the components of the small and medium Classic tubs. We are hoping that these easy concepts may inspire aspiring builders!
Since these projects are rather simple, we did not give step-by-step directions. By glancing at the images, my 8-year-old could recognize all of these patterns. Some of these, but not all, would be doable for my 5-year-old. Consequently, you might need to lend a hand to your youthful constructor. And honestly, they don’t have to construct these precisely as we did — perhaps these concepts might serve as a springboard for additional inventiveness!
Although these sets are not required, we didn’t utilize any parts that weren’t part of them.
