I haven’t received my M4 yet, but I used iDrive 7 for three years with its predecessor. There are one or two buttons on the left column’s stalk. The top or (if one) single button changes the tachometer’s half-dozen internal displays. One of them is the odometer (total and trip); the others will display their information while concealing your mileage.
When the automobile starts up, its mileage momentarily displays before going away again if the display is set to another item. (If I want to browse album art, I default to gear for simplicity or the song that is currently playing.)
My car doesn’t have an odometer like every previous car I’ve owned, so I genuinely have difficulties finding out how many miles it has other than when I turn it on and off.

Don’t drive so much. 70K miles on a vehicle that has been on the road for 2.5 years is absurd.
Some of us travel by car frequently. I work between 20 and 25k a year; not all of it is on the E90, but I do 15 to 17k on it.
I’m not certain what counsel I can give, though. Even in the E9x “hidden” menus, there is no way to conceal it. Keep your automobile looking beautiful, and rather of commenting on how many miles it has, people should be complimenting how nice it looks.
On the 3 series, I don’t believe this is feasible. The button or switch that alters the display for different sorts of mpg (instantaneous, average, etc.) can be utilized to conceal the odometer, according to the 750Li my father drove. I’m very certain that button was the culprit, albeit it may have been another button on the same stalk because my folks live 500 miles away.
