There is a display setting dubbed “showroom mode” on BMWs with digital cockpits.
The showroom shows an animation of the speedometer, tachometer, and numerous computer functions when it is turned on.
The steps listed below can be used to reach the showroom mode menu:
- Activate the start/stop button.
- The iDrive screen will display the message “Diagnostic Mode Active” as a result.
- Hold down the upper computer select button on the left-hand stalk for 20 seconds.
- On the instrument cluster display, the menu screen will show.
- four times on the computer select button
- This button must be depressed for 10 seconds before the menu item “showroom mode” appears.
- Ten seconds of menu-pressing is required.
- Two blank tick boxes with the labels “Autom. Presentation” and “Simulation On Displays” are visible on the iDrive screen.

How to Use the DIS Software to Reset the BMW Transport Mode
Owners of BWM vehicles frequently unintentionally activate the Transport Mode and restrict certain vehicle features. Transport Mode can be reset using the DIS Software, albeit many users find it difficult to do so. We’ll walk you through the steps involved.

When you let your battery run completely flat, the BMW Transport Mode may inadvertently engage. The throttle response, interior lights, radio, air conditioning, sunroof, and other features are all deactivated while the vehicle is in Transport mode.
The Transport Mode was first created to stop the batteries from getting discharged while the car was being transported from the manufacturing to the dealership. Typically, you can reset the Transport Mode by going to your neighborhood service dealership. Using the DIS program, you can also complete the task yourself. A dealer-level BMW diagnostic tool called DIS was created for BMW dealers who used the GT1 system. It is employed to carry out diagnostics, programming, coding, live data display, module reading, and fault reads.

The 2014 X5 Xdrive 35i has air suspension in the back. It repeatedly switches into transport mode. According to what I’ve read, this can occur in only 3 different ways:
1. Reconnecting and re-connecting the battery (this isn’t the issue)
2. Putting it in that mode at the manufacturer or in service (also not the issue)
3. The car is over the ocean, according to GPS. I do reside ten miles or less from Florida’s coast.
and perhaps:
4. A flawed GM module Update: It appears that the F15 lacks a GM module altogether.
5. Incorrect keyfob pairing? This one is noteworthy because my wife had just stepped out of the car and was walking away while carrying her key fob. As I departed in my car, my was still on me.
What switches on the transport mode?
When the Model S is being winched onto a flatbed truck, Transport Mode keeps the parking brake disengaged. When turned on, Transport Mode shows a notice saying the car will continue to roll freely. To activate Transport Mode, you need to have the following:
- power with low voltage. The touchscreen cannot be used to launch Transport Mode if
- The Model S must recognize a key. The only time Transport Mode is active is when a key is found.
For Transport Mode to be engaged:
- Verify that the car is in park.
- Make sure the Model S is secure and chock the tires.
- Hold down the brake pedal while touching Controls > Service > Towing on the touchscreen. A message on the touchscreen serves as a reminder of how to move a Model S safely.
- The Transport Mode button must be pressed and held down until it becomes blue. The Model S is now free-rolling and may be winched or rolled over short distances at a modest pace (no faster than walking speed).
Use self-loading dollies or tire skates if the electrical system is down and you are unable to use the touchscreen to activate Transport Mode. Always review the manufacturer’s recommendations for loading capacity and specs before doing so.
How can I stop Tesla transport mode from running?
Put Model Y in Park to end Transport Mode. If your car has a low voltage lead-acid battery, see Jump Starting the Low Voltage Battery for further information. If Model Y loses low voltage power after Transport Mode is activated, Transport Mode might be cancelled.

How can I exit transport mode on my C8?
Start the vehicle (as indicated by the green Ready light), turn on the hazard flashers, depress and hold the brake pedal, and then press and hold the Start/Stop button for at least 15 seconds to turn Transport Mode On or Off. The DIC will show a notification about the status of the transport mode. After then, turn off the danger flashers. Prior to resuming, give the car at least 2 minutes to sleep.
Start the car, depress the brake pedal, switch on the hazard flashers, and hold the start button for at least 15 seconds to change the transport mode on or off. The Battery Warning light will flash, and the DIC will show a message about the Transport Mode On/Off status.
My automobile entered transport mode, why?
When I was cleaning my car, the radio suddenly stopped working, and a black screen appeared with the message “Transport mode, Call Dealership.” I’ve never seen that before; does anyone know what it means specifically? [rant] [mad]
Some modules (including the IPC and the BCM) are set to factory mode during the construction of the vehicle. The vehicle is switched to transport mode once the build is finished.
When the vehicle is not in use for extended periods of time, the battery drain is reduced by using the transport mode. While in the transport mode, a number of system features can be changed or disabled. The IPC shows TRANSPORT MODE in the message center when in transport mode. It is possible to switch from transport mode to regular operation mode.
When did you get your car? Normally, the dealer will turn off transport mode when preparing the car.
It goes without saying that it is uncommon for transport mode to re-enable itself after being disabled.
What is the automotive mode of transportation?
The Transport Mode is designed to be used when shipping new GM models from the assembly facility over great distances. When turned on, it lessens the parasitic electrical load that the battery must handle when the car is parked, allowing the battery to stand for up to 70 days before dying.
New GM models may display a Transport Mode On message on the Driver Information Center and/or flash the red battery light if Transport Mode is not disabled prior to vehicle delivery. (Fig. 18)
The following features will be disabled 24 hours after Transport Mode is activated, therefore the key must be used to start the car with the engine off. Remote keyless entry, content theft, and passive entry. The Remote Keyless Entry capability is kept active during Transport Mode on the 2016–2021 Escalade, Tahoe, Suburban, and Yukon models, allowing entry without a key. The effectiveness of exit lights timers has decreased.
The key fob will function to enable use of the Engine Start/Stop button in new vehicles with Passive Entry/Passive Start (PEPS) while Transport Mode is on and the key fob is inside the car.
With the ignition in Run, the Remote Keyless Entry and Passive Entry features are once again functional.
Turn on Transport Mode and follow these instructions to get into the car:
- With the key fob, try to open the car.
- If the key fob is not working to unlock the car, try pressing the PEPS door handle switch a few times (if it is equipped) before trying again with the key fob.
- The key must be used to unlock the vehicle if the key fob is not working.
- Activate or deactivate the Transport Mode according to your vehicle’s instructions.
During the time the car is in the dealership’s inventory, Transport Mode should be kept on. Additionally, if the customer plans to store the car, they might choose to use the Transport Mode. The process for switching Transport Mode back on and off is the same.
Refer to Power Mode Description and Operation/Transport Mode (If Equipped) in the relevant Service Information for the steps to switch Transport Mode off/on for a certain GM model.
The typical PDI process time includes turning off Transport Mode on vehicles that were dispatched from the assembly plant with the feature turned on.
How can you stop the 2021 Escalade’s transport mode from running?
Start the car, turn on the warning flashers, depress the clutch or brake pedal (for manual transmissions), and then press and hold the Start/Stop button or turn the ignition key to the crank position for 15 seconds to toggle the transport mode on or off.
