There are two ways to request that My BMW erase your data and account. As follows:
- You have the right to request that an entity that holds data about you remove the data in accordance with GDPR, the General Data Protection Regulation (for EU residents). The “right to erasure” refers to this. Your request may be made orally or in writing. To provide evidence, we advise sending a letter via email. A company has one calendar month to answer your inquiry.
- The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives residents of California the right to ask businesses to remove any personal information they may have about them.
Legally, the company must remove the customer’s personal information from its files and order any service suppliers to do the same. Businesses that violate the CCPA may be subject to fines of up to $7,500 per offense.
Now that we are aware of what the regulations require, you can delete your account by emailing My BMW. How to respond to a request to delete account data is as follows:
- Explain in your email why you want your data/account removed. Keep in mind that under the GDPR or CCPA, you are not required to give a reason for your request.
- Give all the information you know about your My BMW account.
- Mention the law that governs your request, such as the GDPR or CCPA.
- Notify My BMW of the $7,500 penalties under the CCPA and the 4% of annual turnover under the GDPR that will be imposed for non-compliance.

How Can I Delete My Account?
In actuality, this is a fascinating query. How come you can’t erase it? Changing my screen name or having the ability to do so occasionally is something I know I would like to do on other boards. (To remove moles or anything else, you may include “formerly known as…” in their public profile)
I’m thinking along those lines. I registered with BfC using a different username when I first started. Then this one appeared; I’m not sure why, but I kept it. Unfortunately, my old account was associated with my legitimate email address.
Accounts are never removed, in my opinion (I could be wrong). I think Kevin or another administrator simply cancels the license, leaving the threads and posts in place.
You might be able to merge two accounts if you unintentionally created another one.
Since I no longer own a BMW, I request that my account be deactivated. I want it to be destroyed since it contains private information that I am unable to change.
For reasons of accountability, accounts are not removed. We must turn over the information if law enforcement approaches. Internet anonymity is not as strong as some people would think. Any content you publish will likely be online forever. Google already kept it even if we didn’t.
Delete my account, please. immediately remove all related information, including data and access. Even though it reads “DeletedUser46879” and everything that, I can still publish and view my account, posts, and private messages. It shouldn’t take a year to delete something. Is there a problem of some kind? Delete me.

No, the My BMW remote app only enables pairing with Amazon Alexa for your BMW iDrive. Therefore, once you’re connected, Amazon Music will be accessible through your ConnectedDrive account on iDrive.
Go to the menu of the app and select the “Vehicle” tab to remove your vehicle from your My BMW Connected account in the My BMW remote app. Select the car you want to remove from your account there, then click “Delete” to finish.
The My BMW Remote App must be connected by:
The security code will be delivered to your car, and you can locate it under the “BMW messages” tab in iDrive.

How can I remove my account on BMW ConnectedDrive?

How do I disconnect my BMW key?
I want to modify the key for our 2013 X3 35i from having two profiles to having only one so that each key only has one and not two. Otherwise, each time, you must choose between the two profiles.
The “show user list at start up” checkbox needs to be selected in your iDrive. Uncheck the box by going to settings, profile, and then option. Only one profile can be stored on each key. You are viewing every profile that is kept on your iDrive. With a certain fob, the car will immediately call up that profile when you unlock the door.
I followed your advice and proceeded to profiles, options because I couldn’t get the car to swap profiles with various keys. On my screen, there is no option to “show user list at startup.”
The amusing aspect is that the handbook features a screenshot of the screen with the bottom line “display user list at start up.”
I intend to return to the dealer shortly to get some of these technical details explained. I’ll keep you informed of my results.
The past two months or so have been spent larking. Thanks to everyone for the wonderful information.
The key fob can only store one profile at a time, as stated by X Men. The profile that the key will store is the one that is currently in use when the car is locked. Whether or not the vehicle is locked, the profile is activated, or recalled, when using the unlock button on the fob. Additionally, it can be chosen from a list in the profile menu. When iDrive starts up, the profile list does not automatically show; you must choose it from the menu. It could be possible to make it appear as soon as the car starts, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Although profiles can be removed from the menu, the current profile will be saved on the key used to lock the car as soon as you do. We have found this to be one of the 2013 28i’s most perplexing and poorly described characteristics. It would still remain a mystery if not for this site and several searches. Your sales adviser might be able to help, but this isn’t something that can be determined over the phone; it needs to be seen in person.
Our seat presets and other settings are almost the same for the time being because we put our car in a locked garage while it is unlocked, thus when I go in the car after my wife, I use her settings.
The automobile will probably identify our profiles if we simply start locking the car in the garage, and everything should be OK.
We haven’t really started to develop our profiles yet because the car is so new to us, but I want to fully understand how everything works before I begin.
We might not have this issue if we had chosen the “Comfort Access System.”
How do I get rid of my BMW i3’s personal data?
You can rename profiles using a “hidden menu” that appears when you slide the controller to the right.
You can see Delete all Data if you scroll to the bottom of that screen (it’s off the screen, at the bottom of the list).
For whatever reason, I was having trouble accessing this menu right now, and when I tried to activate the Reset, I was getting problems.
I gave up and closed, locked, and restarted the car out of annoyance, and everything worked as it should. Perhaps it need a drive-ready state in order to activate? I’m unsure.
Anyway, that’s it; you’ll get the usual warnings, and from what I remember, wiping everything clean takes a while.
The car will still be present in your My BMW app, but the reset process will remove the option to “share GPS location,” so you’ll immediately lose that. However, the door lock status and show state of charge functions will still function up until the point at which you decide to remove the car from your app.
On a BMW G30, how can I deactivate a driver profile?
