Every configuration now appears to save properly after resetting and creating a new profile.

How are driver profiles deleted?
a 2017 X5 was purchased over the weekend. “Shana” and “Hana,” two stored driver profiles, are present. Other than the names, which the book specifies is what you should look for to alter names or modify, there is NO gear sign. How do I get rid of these profiles? It appears that the car has them hard-coded in. I filled out the driver profile that was available (had the gear symbol besides it)
When you reach the place where you can choose these PROFILES you want to delete, are you using the OPTION prompt? If the names are “grayed-out,” they have been replaced and are no longer “current.” Although no profile is still stored in memory, names may still pop up.
What happens if you configure it to display profile names at startup? Can you choose these undesirable names now? If you’re able to, why not choose “OPTION” and RENAME them (with blank spaces)?
I just bought a secondhand 2017 M3C. The Driver Profile/Confirm Active Profile screen appears as soon as I turn the key in the ignition on the onboard computer screen, prompting me to “Select driver profile to assign it to the active car key.” The screen vanishes after pushing the dial button on the controller to choose my profile. But each time I turn on the car, I see the same screen.
I’ve tried erasing every profile that’s already there and starting again with my own. Additionally, I changed the key’s battery. But I continue to see the screen.
Is this standard? It seems strange that I should need to validate my profile each time I launch. Is it possible to get rid of this prompt?
Idrive has a feature that allows you to completely conceal the profile screen. Sadly, I can’t remember which settings panel it was in, but it was in the iDrive itself and didn’t require any coding.
How can I alter the name on my BMW driver profile?
Ask them to modify it by calling them at 800-831-1117 and selecting the Connected Services option (you’ll need your vin). I just finished this.

How many different driver profiles are there in BMW?
I just picked up my new 118i MSport last Monday, therefore I’m a new member. I’m reviving this discussion because I’ve been having trouble getting my wife and I to utilize Apple Carplay on our separate iPhones in the car when we’re driving without the other.
What I discovered and ultimately did is as follows:
Because there can only be one BMW app account per BMW, we have this set up for me as the primary driver, with a named profile connected to the key that I use. My profile has a link to Carplay, which is prioritized above my wife’s iPhone.
My wife occasionally drives the BMW but also has her own vehicle, an Abarth. The BMW app account could be temporarily given to my wife so she may create a named profile, and then it could be given back to me. However, I’m not sure it would be worth the hassle for our purposes.
The guest profile, which we have set up for her preferences, including linking her iPhone and Carplay, both of which are saved to the car, is used instead because it is not linked to a profile.
My named profile, which gets my preferences and my Carplay connections, is now what I receive when I use my key. My wife receives guests when she uses her key, yet guests remember preferences and Carplay links.
I got this done today and I hope it keeps working! I wish it could aid other people in a similar circumstance.
After leaving a Mercedes A Class, I find that I love driving my new BMW considerably more. It is unquestionably a better driver’s car.
On my BMW, how can I erase contacts?
Folks I need to remove data (phone contacts, music, destinations, etc.) from the I drive after trading in the F30. Even after trying everything, I still can’t manage to get rid of phone contacts. We would appreciate any assistance. No Bluetooth in the car…
Contacts don’t appear when I switch off Bluetooth on my phone since I don’t import contacts to my idrive. Usually, if I need to fast clean the memory, I’ll just erase recently visited places and messages. Since you’re selling the car, you should in your situation take the actions suggested by the other poster to thoroughly clean the I drive.
I was “hovering” over profiles in settings without selecting them; perhaps that will also be helpful. It may just apply to the “Profiles” selection because options vary based on whatever selection you are on.
Just wasted 45 minutes looking for a way to erase all contacts. I tried various profiles while using both of the car’s keys, but nothing worked. Honestly BMW? So difficult to remove contacts? To get the dealer to complete it, I might have to return.
Like with messages and last destinations, there should often be a mechanism to delete all contacts if you select the option button while viewing the contacts. Either one entry or all of them can be deleted.
When I press options while on the contacts screen as per your advice, the original options screen appears. It’s bad that it’s more complicated than that. really frustrating
I’m not sure what to tell you, but that stinks. I really posted earlier about “remove all users” while looking at it in my car; nevertheless, I also recently received a software upgrade. Perhaps it is a feature of more recent models, as the 14’s lacked it.
What functions BMW profile?
We detest it when someone tinkers with our seats; I don’t know about you guys. When do you know you’ve found the ideal posture to properly heel-and-toe or rev match? Why can’t this particular post be filled for more than a few weeks at a time?
At least, that’s how I feel every time I take my car to the wash, since the attendants seem especially eager to move my seat back and forth to clean anything. I’m not even going to try to imagine what people who ride in the same vehicle, like couples, must experience.
However, there might be a remedy available right now that you probably weren’t even aware of. Remember the time when you looked at power seats and thought they were rather useless? We’re going to show you today how memory seats can save you a ton of troubles, so you should think back to the days when they were mocked.
Recent movies from BMW on its YouTube page illustrate some of the underappreciated features of new automobiles and how they might simplify your life. The one concerning personal profiles caught our attention the most out of the group.
That’s because you can actually set up various profiles for the two key fobs you receive when you purchase a new BMW. If there are two drivers, they can separately customize their seats, mirrors, and other settings to suit their needs and save them as profiles while driving.
All you then need to do is use your own key fob to start the car, and the software will modify everything to your preferences, leaving you free to focus on having fun while driving.
Making sure that each driver always uses a distinct key fob and setting up two profiles in the Settings -> Profiles sub-menu of the iDrive menu will make all of this quite simple to accomplish.
Additionally, if both drivers are in the car at once, you can manually access the Profiles part of the iDrive menu and select the appropriate profile to ensure that it is used. Additionally, if this is a regular occurrence, you can configure the system to automatically prompt for the appropriate individual each day.
To do that, go to Settings -> Profiles and then press the Options button next to the iDrive controller while the Profiles submenu is highlighted. Select the option to “Display user list at startup” by checking the box next to it. You may also utilize a Guest profile for a person who doesn’t typically operate the vehicle as a pleasant added feature. By selecting it, you can restore the car to its factory settings.
How can my BMW ID be modified?
Choose “Menu” > “BMW ID” > “Change BMW ID” and the recycle bin icon on your BMW with Operating System 8. The personal settings kept in the BMW Cloud will still be accessible if you erase your driver profile or BMW ID from the vehicle when you connect back into a BMW with BMW Operating System 7 or 8.
