I recently purchased a 2010 135i. On the test drive, the PO casually noted that his iPhone Y cable had never functioned and attributed this to it being an aftermarket model rather than an OEM. Imagine my shock when I tried to use my phone and the Aux but it didn’t work!
My signs are as follows:
– No sound. tried a variety of phones and aux cords, even switching which end was connected to which device.
-The car chime gets louder and I can hear a kind of “white noise” when I turn the volume all the way up.
I checked the real aux port to see if there was any debris there, but there wasn’t.
Since I don’t think the radio has ever been taken out or replaced, a code problem shouldn’t be the cause.
This is making me crazy. Instead of listening to bad local radio, I want to listen to podcasts!
If it doesn’t solve the problem, I would remove the aux port and use a multimeter to check for faulty connections. Additionally, I’d check the pin connector.
Yes, I have a Y cable, which identified my iPhone and my music collection, but there is no sound when I play anything.
I only have the option of 6FL. The aux port appears to be the problem, but I have no idea how to fix it. Any advice on how to solve the problem? Thanks!!
Make sure the aux cable only has two rings and not three by inspecting it. I experienced same problem and resolved it by switching to a monster aux 2 ring cable. The 3-ring cable is still not working. I hope it works.
Even if we may disagree on Trump, I’ll be the first penis chaser to admit that I’d rather take it up in the arse than argue with you about it.
In order to stop sporadic sound cut out, I cleaned the female and male connections with isopropyl alcohol and a tissue around a year ago. Since then, no issues.
Enter the music menu first, followed by the aux menu, with the phone hooked into the aux. this gives the aux input a volume adjustment. Cut the volume. If your music is playing, check.
This dead aux jack has the same issue; everything else is functional. The non-CIC stereo has a preset for it, but when you choose it, there is silence. Additionally, whoever posted the picture of the.125″ jack with the labels “2-ring” and “3-ring” on it doesn’t help anyone. Which one is it?

I looked online, but I didn’t come up with anything. A 2009 X3 2.0d is mine. It has a phone and Bluetooth. Moreover, it has an AUX input:
- Rear seat center console ashtray has an aux in.
- (Taken from the user guide) Press “SC Mode” (Mode side) as many times as necessary to activate it, until the radio display shows “AUX.”
- For volume, etc., use the music symbol.
All well, but when I push the radio’s SC Mode button, I only receive either, meaning that it alternates between:
- station of radio
- Nothing on the disc
Never is there an AUX display. All of the aforementioned was carried out both with the 3.5mm jack unplugged and plugged in just in case the system could detect whether a device was genuinely plugged in. Although I have my doubts, you never know.
Am I performing incorrectly. Is any programming required to make the AUX input work? Or is there anything I need to do with the radio first—it plainly doesn’t know there is an AUX port—before I can proceed?
My back center console has an aux-in, but I can’t use it.
I can only toggle between my radio and CD player when I hit the “mode” button on my radio. The “aux” option is completely absent.
When was your X3 made? 2011 is the year of mine, and “mode” does not take me to the aux input. You should be taken to the multimedia menu where you may choose the aux input when you press the “CD” or “MEDIA” button on the I-drive.
To switch from CD to Aux input, I had to access the CD/Multimedia menu on my iDrive and then go back a step by pressing “left.”
Thank you; very useful
Since the most recent software update, I’ve tried to figure it out, but thanks to you, I finally have access to my AUX.
Has the BMW 1 Series Aux?
The 2018 model year 1-series has undergone an interior overhaul consisting of new trim options, blackout dials, and the most recent i-drive infotainment system, similar to the 2-series coupe and cabriolet. The dashboard has also seen a slight modification.
The fact that the rear-drive arrangement has produced a high transmission tunnel and a rear-set cabin, both of which combine to make life a little uncomfortable for the passenger in the back of the 1 Series, is one of the main complaints about it. It’s good for short trips, but knee room is quite tight, so don’t ask somebody to take a seat in the middle of the back seat. When there are no passengers in the back, the barely average 360-liter boot can be chosen with an optional split-fold design, expanding its volume to 1200 liters.
All 1 Series models come equipped with a stylish, high-resolution 6.5-inch dashboard screen and the most recent version of BMW’s iDrive rotary controller conveniently located in the center console. With a CD player, DAB digital radio, an aux-in jack, and Bluetooth as standard features, the BMW Radio Professional system is convenient.
The PS900 “Media package – BMW Professional” is recommended for tech enthusiasts because it offers a more advanced navigation system and many other features, including online services. Additionally, an expensive Harmon Kardon hi-fi system is available to attract audiophiles.
Is there an aux in a 2005 BMW X3?
AUX 3.5mm cable vehicle audio input: Connect your preferred MP3 player, iPod, iPhone, Android device, or smartphone to the device and plug it into the extension port of the BMW X3 2005 factory car stereo to start listening to CD-quality music right away.
How do I use Bluetooth to play music in my BMW 1 Series?
Your phone should appear under “External Devices” once you’ve paired it with the vehicle (the same place a hooked up iPod would show). After choosing it, the phone’s audio ought to start playing through the stereo.
Has a USB port been added to a BMW 1 Series?
The USB plug is on the top side if you open your glove box and peek inside. It powers my iPhone 4 for me. The cord is hidden and out of the way, and it functions nicely. The I drive also detects it, just as it does when the USB plug located under the center console is used.
Has the BMW I own a combox?
You may learn how to use your BMW head unit by watching the video below. If your map data version has “Premium” inscribed on it, your head unit is a CIC.
CIC (Pro Nav) – If your car has a CIC head unit installed, you’ll need a factory-installed combox.
The carpet in the boot must be taken out in order to determine whether your automobile has a combox installed (please do not ask us to check via VIN, please follow the steps below).
- Open the boot and remove all of your stuff before continuing.
- The boot liner carpet readily pulls out, so remove it completely and lay it down.
- The flat supporting hard board in the boot should be removed, not just lifted up.
- The item circled on the left in the image above is the combox (just forward of the battery). A fuse box will be visible to the right if you are searching in the proper spot (just forward of the battery).
- You don’t have a combox if the area to the left of the fuse box is empty.
- If the combox in the circle is installed. Great! You can be coded.
Unfortunately, due to the length of time and complexity of the installation, we do not refit comboxes.
The cost of the coding retrofit, PS91.67 + VAT, remains the same if the combox is already in place. For PS91.67 plus VAT, we can currently add this extended Bluetooth option to your car. Simply phone one of our team members at 0118 958 3481, and they will schedule you.
Please go back one set and check out one of the other tutorials if you have Next, Move, or Motion.
How can I tell whether the Bluetooth in my BMW is upgraded?
Did you know that in 2000, the first car with Bluetooth was introduced? (No, it wasn’t a BMW; a Chrysler only.) And even after 18 years, this technology remains one of the most crucial ways to integrate your phone’s capabilities into your preferred vehicle.
Depending on the package or the car configurations you select, BMWs come with two different sorts of features: Bluetooth Basics and Bluetooth Enhanced (EBT).
Please be aware that your model, phone, and even the network operator have a significant impact on the EBT features. While some BMWs with Enhanced Bluetooth may be restricted to fewer functions than are typically attributed to this technology, other vehicles with Basic Bluetooth may have more options than they should. Check the BMW Bluetooth compatibility page to find out exactly what you will receive with the EBT Bluetooth audio update. Keep in mind that this list is constantly subject to change; each BMW Bluetooth software update may include new functions, and updating the operating system on your phone may affect the functionality available to you in your vehicle.
What does AUX mode mean?
You can put anything with a normal headphone connection into the 3.5mm auxiliary-in (or aux-in) connector in your car. You can “stream” music from a device through the car’s speakers because it delivers sound to the multimedia system.
How do I make my AUX wire work?
One end of the AUX wire should be inserted into the speaker’s AUX input. The AUX output port on your audio device should now accept the other end of the AUX cable. Push once to activate after setting the SOURCE knob to AUX.
Why won’t my AUX work?
Verify that the AUX cord is securely attached to both devices. If there are only two rings and this doesn’t work, your cord is incompatible. If there are three rings, the auxiliary cord needs to be changed. If this doesn’t solve the issue, you might need to replace the auxiliary wire jack. For further details, see our article on troubleshooting.
My issue is similar to yours. The SRS XB30 I own. One of my friends owns an SRS XB 20. On all of these, auxiliary simply doesn’t function. It must be a problem with the Sony speakers. I’ve looked everywhere for a solution, but there is none. Sorry.
Install the Tum Music Center app on your smartphone and pair it with your Bluetooth-enabled device. Increase or decrease the volume by selecting audio/aux in the menu. Your speaker will now begin to operate.
Why won’t my car’s AUX jack work?
The fuse should be checked first if the aux port is completely unusable. If a fuse is blown, changing it should resolve the issue. If the fuse has not blown, then there might be a wiring issue. Check to check if any wires are frayed or broken, or if there are any loose wires.
What distinguishes BMW Business from BMW Professional radio?
I don’t know if you’ve already ordered your automobile, but I did four weeks ago and faced the same dilemma. The professional unit sounds far better than the business unit, which I tested both of.
Even though the speakers are same, the head unit output is considerably better, and the radio has more selections, which is good. I heartily recommend the Professional unit for the little money.
