Hello, I’m new to this forum. I recently purchased a 2016 750i, however because I’m away from home at the moment, I had it delivered to my family’s home. I’m trying to activate the GPS positioning so that it appears on the BMW linked app on my iPhone, but we can’t figure out where to do it in the iDrive settings. Although I’ve found a few vids online, the menus aren’t same. The software appears to be up to date, and we were able to enable the folding mirrors when locking option after activating the BMW remote services. However, we are unable to locate the location services activation.
Any assistance you guys may offer would be greatly appreciated. I believe the car is utilizing iDrive 5, and the “Locate your vehicle” functionality is now disabled in the BMW linked app.
Since I have ID6, the layout is different, but the menus appear to be the same. So it’s.
Vehicle Settings > My Vehicle > Vehicle Tracking > Mark the box next to Vehicle tracking with a checkmark.
Below are screenshots. Just keep in mind that this is NOT live tracking. It is the last run-time position that has been saved. Once that’s on, start the car and let it run for a few minutes before turning it off. If the car is underground or in a garage, or if it was brought on the back of a low loader, it may not have maintained its previous position.

I apologize for being so late, but do you mean that if GPS tracking is not a possibility, I am out of luck? Funny, does the navigation system use GPS or is it only FM (FM = Freaking Magic) that makes the navigation work?
These are two distinct tasks requiring two distinct means of communication.
To determine its precise location, the automobile uses GPS signals from (at least) four circling satellites. Plotting that place on a map and figuring out a route to a destination are the only (!) necessary steps in navigation. The GPS satellite constellation receives nothing from the car at all.
When a vehicle is being tracked, its position fix must be transmitted somewhere and then retrieved when you need to find it (using a service). A cellular data connection is necessary for that transmission. GPS has nothing to do with cellular radio.
The “GPS Tracking” option is probably disabled or hidden by the car’s software unless all conditions necessary to allow that capability are met. So, sure, you are screwed if you don’t see it.

How do I change the location of my BMW?
Anyone else experiencing issues with the MYBMW app’s status update? The date and time are updated when the screen is pulled down, but nothing else does. I can still lock and unlock the car, therefore the app is still connected to the vehicle.
There is no updating of the location, mileage, or fuel level. I’ve done all I can think of right now, the petrol tank is full, and I haven’t disconnected and reconnected the car app.
It’s difficult. Since I just tried to drag the screen down to refresh it and it still displays the time from 3am, I’m not even convinced it was a complete success.
Enter the vehicle, select an installed app, and then press the options button on the lower console, which is located behind the iDrive wheel. A screen with a few options will appear. That choice ought to be chosen already. Update services and apps.
To choose it, click the iDrive wheel. It takes a few seconds for the update. the radio volume hardware button located below the infotainment screen, and then press and hold it. I held mine in for around two minutes, during which time the car stereo twice reset. Click it again to turn it on.
Shut down the app. Click the small guy in the bottom right corner of the app, followed by the gear in the upper right. After selecting BMW ID, log out. Next, sign back in.
It takes a lot of effort. But I’ve been unable to lower the screen and force a refresh. It still informs me that it was last refreshed at around 3am.
Over the weekend, the app was causing me problems as well. Sincerely, I believe it has to do with BMW systems. Even the remote camera has recently been crap, but mine is back to normal.
I haven’t yet had a remote camera operate for me. Since picking up my car, I’ve tried it every day. I haven’t been able to make it work even once.
I’ve already given up on the remote camera for the time being because I haven’t driven the M4 in two weeks and can’t get the app to update in the garage.

The majority of OBD devices available today can be Bluetooth-paired with your smartphone or tablet, enabling you to keep an eye on your fleet wherever you are. Additionally, your drivers can pair with the device to receive data and details about their driving patterns, travel patterns, and overages.
The gadget determines how to install your GPS. If you use a hardwired black box, it will need to be placed with three wires under the dashboard. If one exists, your internal maintenance team can complete this task with ease. We advise installing a GPS antenna and cables away from any other electrical devices that can interfere with satellite connection if you use this sort of tracker.
On the other hand, OBD trackers are far simpler to install and call for little to no downtime. The steps for installing OBD are as follows:

- The 16-pin port should receive the OBD device.
- Install the software or app for the device on your mobile device.
