I know it’s a dumb question, but has anyone ever thought about, or actually done, altering, or customizing the interior leather? I am aware that aftermarket leather interiors are frequently fitted to other vehicles. I’m merely interested if anyone has tried to improve or modify the leather or interior color that came standard on their vehicle.
Because the color she wanted only had a black interior and she didn’t want that, my mother did this to her brand-new Honda CRV. She asked the salesperson to take the car to an aftermarket upholstery business rather than purchasing a different color automobile with a gray interior. I assume it was over $3,000 because she wouldn’t tell me how much she spent.
I am aware of numerous individuals who have arranged this as an aftermarket service with a dealer following a purchase, but not with BMW. It was clearly not prohibitively expensive. Just wondering if anyone else has purchased a 3 series in the same way.
I chose aftermarket, which resulted in much more supple leather in Zimtbraun (Cinnamon), which isn’t offered by the factory, with beige stitching. It’s not even close to the standard Dakota inside from BMW. Factory Dakota fit and finish aren’t remotely comparable, and it feels and looks like plastic.
Excellent. Would you mind stating the price? Did they put it over the leather (or vinyl) that was already there?
Finding a car with the inside color of your choice that was being turned into a race car would be fantastic. I was able to purchase the entire interior from a 1M Coupe for the store 135i for a lot less money than reupholstering.
Your old inside is removed, and the new one is hand-cut and hand-stitched. Here are just a few images. (Cools interiors did the Zimtbraun Dakota, which is much higher quality than BMW’s Dakota.) Returning the car took roughly 5 days. approximately USD 2900 in total.
I considered it, but decided it might be a little too much. Still considering having cinnamon stitching added to the handbrake boot and possibly the steering wheel.
Stunning!! I appreciate the images. Excellent value for the money with that update! Could I ask what color your outside is? Seems to fit Mineral Grey perfectly, but would go great with many other colors.
It’s really great how that interior is custom brown. Brown leather is not my favorite, but that is excellent.
If F30/F32 owners prefer finer leather and a better appearance, they can always acquire an M3/M4 interior and swap out the front and back seats and door cards.

What is the cost of repairing the interior door panel on my car?
After all these years, the internal door panel on my Mercedes has become filthy. Numerous ugly scratches. It has to be corrected or replaced, in my opinion. I need to have the automobile towed in because I’m not very handy. How much will it cost to repair my car’s inside door panel?
In less than two minutes, find out if your auto insurance is being overcharged.
I’m delighted to hear that you’re maintaining your vehicle. The repairs and parts should only cost a few hundred dollars if you’re only replacing the panels.
Typically, interior door panels are just plain plastic pieces that protect the electrical wiring within the door. Depending on your car, a new interior panel can cost anywhere from $90 and $300. Your labor costs will be reduced because the work merely requires removing the old panel and installing the new one.
You might only spend $100 if you’re only changing one panel. Multiple panel replacements may result in a price increase of up to $1,000.

What’s the finest approach to modify the leather color of a new sixer I might be buying, I wondered from the professionals? It has a black inside, and I would like to replace the black with something that has white leather.
I once asked the salesman for a pricing on a “BMW Individual” (which I suppose would be top money), and he estimated that the full improvements would run me around $12,000. Therefore, I assume that doing this aftermarket or in some other method would be less expensive.
Any ideas on where or what to put this? Does BMW provide this service for customers who wish to modify what they already have, or will I have to travel to “South Coast Customs” in Los Angeles and request it?
advantages of installing LED lights in your car
LED lights undoubtedly give your car a distinctive look, but there are also other benefits to having them. A few advantages of having LED lighting on your car include the following:
- Long-lasting: Since LED lights emit less energy than traditional forms of lights, they often have a longer lifespan. As a result, it will be much longer before you need to replace them. In fact, many LED lights will continue to shine brightly for at least 15,000 hours.
- Functionality: If you’ve ever tried to look for something you dropped at night, you can see how useful LED lights are. When compared to other interior cabin light types, LED lights are significantly brighter, enabling you to see more of your car. When compared to other indoor lighting kinds, LED lights also provide crisper visibility.
- Price: As LED lights have become more prevalent, their cost has decreased as well. Since they cost less than traditional interior lights and have a longer lifespan, LED lights are frequently a simple choice.
- Customization: If you’re the kind of automobile enthusiast who likes to flaunt their unique sense of style, you’ll like having a variety of LED light colors to pick from. Additionally, you may install LED lighting in any location on your car. Want the backseat to have more light? Want the sky to be more lit? LED lights can be used to satisfy both your functional and aesthetic needs. Many drivers like how ambient illumination produced by LED lights can help you unwind and enjoy your ride.
Since LED lights are available in a variety of shapes and sizes, including bulbs and light strips, you may design them to fit your car. The interior of your car can look better by installing LED lights in the smallest cracks and darkest nooks.
I have a black inside right now, but I was wondering if I could convert it to an other shade, like the red coral interior.
That could be accomplished by any respectable upholstery business, even with superior factory leather hides. The question is whether this shop can accomplish this while keeping the front seats’ side airbags functional.
The OEM leather side panels and seat coverings are also an option, but they will set you back several thousand dollars in components alone.
Simply swapping interiors with another BMW is an additional possibility. If you place an advertisement in the classifieds, someone might be interested in switching to black the same way that you are.
Change to another BMW, or look for a salvage vehicle with the colors you choose and buy the seats from it. This would only be the chairs, but if you wanted to go all out, I suppose you could also locate door panels and carpet.
I think the leather wrap around the seat is a separate purchase. Although I’m sure it will be a nightmare to slip it over the new seat, it shouldn’t be a problem if done correctly.
Simply check to see whether they are a reputable establishment and request to see examples of their work. It is obvious that these chairs are not OEM when they are not tight and have wrinkles.
A black interior with white seats and door panels and black piping around the seats would be my ideal.
A straight swap, as in, taking away my tickets and trading them for someone else’s (interested parties) seats on this forum?
There’s no need to ship if you have no idea how. There should be at least a few forum users in NYC as there are 9 million residents there as of the last time I looked. possibly a junkyard with the components…
A new OEM from a dealer costs about $5,000. Not worth it; I already asked since I wanted a specific color, and those cost $5k as well.
I doubt anyone wants to swap their coral red seats either; finding a willing trade partner is absurdly difficult. The best option is to have it professionally upholstered.
You might also have them redyed, but since your seats are dark, it will probably require several coats to achieve the desired shade. However, everything is conceivable.
Haha, seems like a pricey desire. Perhaps I’ll stick with the sleek black and spend the money on something else, like suspension adjustments or new wheels.
How much does it cost to outfit a BMW with a red interior?
I want to buy a new or old BMW for myself, and I’m hoping to find one with a red interior. However, I haven’t been able to locate one. I once saw one with a red interior, but I’m beginning to wonder if that was an aftermarket addition. Do BMW vehicles ever come equipped with crimson interiors?
wonderful question Yes, BMW does produce vehicles with red interiors, although they are rather uncommon.
BMW occasionally produces a small number of its vehicles with red interiors, but as they are not very popular, you are unlikely to encounter many of them. The BMW 3 Series 328I probably has the red inside the most frequently, but it’s possible to find it in many other models—it just might take some searching.
You can always have another BMW reupholstered with an aftermarket interior if you’d rather not wait and are very set on getting a BMW with a red inside. Obviously, that all often costs between $2,000 and $4,000.
