The BMW M6 is a sexy beast indeed, fusing a refined yet aggressive style with exceptional performance. A six-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic transmission is paired to a 560-hp 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 to provide power. Although one might not anticipate such imposing power in a plush and cozy convertible, it is precisely why we adore it. Despite being more nimble than the 6-series, the M6’s steering and brakes don’t provide enough feedback to qualify as true sports cars.

BMW M6
From 1983 through 2018, the BMW M6 was a high-performance variant of the 6 Series that was sold under the BMW M sub-brand (with a break from 1990-2004).
Later editions of the M6, which debuted in the coupe body style, also featured the fastback sedan (dubbed the “Gran Coupe”) and convertible body types. For the first three iterations of the 6 Series, an M6 model was created. The M6’s production ceased in 2018 and was replaced in 2019 by the BMW M8 (F91/F92/F93).
A BMW M6 coupe with 800 horsepower
If you find the BMW M6 Coupe to be too subdued, tuning company G-Power has an answer. The 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 in the M6 Coupe normally makes 552 horsepower and 501 lb-ft of torque, but after G-upgrades, Power’s it now has 789 horsepower and 774 lb-ft of torque, firmly placing it in the supercar category.
The tuner modified the turbochargers and installed various performance components inside the engine compartment to accomplish this. The upgraded M6 can therefore reach a top speed of 205 mph. The 0-62 mph sprint time hasn’t been disclosed by G-Power, but given that the base M6 with the Competition Package requires 3.9 seconds, there’s a fair possibility it’s now closer to three seconds.
Naturally, converting the BMW M6 into an 800-hp beast is expensive. Without the EUR1,446.59 ($1,649) carbon tailpipes, the price of G-Performance Power’s Software V4 in Germany is EUR3,519.43 ($4,009). The modified turbochargers add another EUR4,581.50 ($5,219), the downpipes with sport catalyst are another EUR4,593.40 ($5,232), and the exhaust titanium system is another EUR6,501.47 ($7,406). You will need to pay an additional EUR516.70 ($589) if you choose the higher V-max. Oh, and installation costs are not included in these prices.
To go along with the vehicle’s performance improvement, G-Power gave the M6 a carbon fiber body makeover that includes a new front spoiler, side skirts, diffuser, rear wing, and new hood. This makes the M6 resemble an M4 GTS more. These new components, which were designed with aerodynamics in mind, “substantially” increase the downforce on both axles of the vehicle. An adjustable suspension and a new set of 21-inch wheels with 255/30 and 295/25 tires complete the upgrades. That BMW stopped making the 6 Series Coupe in the US last year is unfortunate.
