For me, DEF Fluid refills have been every 7–10k. That being said, after the first few times, I just developed a practice of waiting for the “1000/mile left” indication and stopping at Walmart or another place where you purchase yours to refill a 2.5-gallon jug.
So, there’s never any waiting around in a hot or chilly garage. seem to operate flawlessly.
I keep track of the volume added and miles driven since new and top off my DEF at every oil change. A 20K mile range to empty is calculated over 63K miles.
