The BMW M3 CS had a limited production run of 1200 units, and only 52 of those vehicles were designated for Canada. swiftly uncommon? Oh, yes. A more potent and dynamic M3 is the CS. A brand-new vehicle, code-named G20, will be debuted at the 2018 Paris Auto Show, marking the end of the line for the current generation of the 3 Series, code-named F30. Given that it is the fastest and most dynamic model of the F30 3 Series, the M3 CS qualifies as one last spectacular flash of speed.
The M3 CS’s S55 twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six engine produces more torque than either the base M3 or the M3 Competition, putting 443 pound-feet under your right foot as opposed to 406 for the base M3 and the M3 Competition. The M3 CS is only marginally more powerful than the regular M3 (425 hp) or the M3 Competition (444 hp). The M3 CS is a dazzling star on the road, constantly wanting to crank to its 7600-rpm redline with a terrific noise from its modified exhaust. On paper, it doesn’t look like much of a power and torque bump.
The dual-clutch, seven-speed gearbox’s settings can be adjusted at the press of a button, and the Sport Plus mode, which delivers faster shifts, has a run-to-100 km/h time of 3.9 seconds. The fact that the M3 CS only comes with a dual-clutch transmission and not the usual manual, which is still available on the ordinary M3, will annoy some purists who enjoy changing gears manually. A valid point, but the dual-clutch transmission is far quicker, and using the M3 CS’s paddles is a joy. 13 L/100 km was the fuel usage we saw.

The internal motorsport subsidiary of BMW, BMW M GmbH, created the BMW M3 as a high-performance variant of the BMW 3 Series. Since the 1986 debut of the E30 M3, M3 variants have been made for every iteration of the 3 Series.

The F80 M3 CS is that vehicle, and like the aforementioned models, it was produced at the height of its generation; consider it the final model in the line. The newest model, however, has four doors and a twin-turbo engine, whilst the four older variants are all coupes with normally aspirated engines.
Although the M4 CS would have made more sense, Carfection chose to remain with the M3 and ignore the fact that it is now a four-door vehicle. Though it is not quite as dramatic as the current M4 GTS, the BMW M3 CS (for Club Sport) ranks above the M3 Competition Package.
However, considering the relatively low production numbers and the upgraded twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight-six that boosts performance, the CS is a truly lightweight special made in a limited edition of 1,200 units, so you really can’t go wrong with purchasing one.
The high-performance car can complete the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint in 3.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 173 mph (280 km/h) thanks to the engine’s 454 horsepower (460 PS) and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. This car is impressive, but will it ever become as popular as the E46 M3 CSL? Ultimately, collectors and time will decide.

But once you’re on a freeway, the BMW M3 CS comes to life. The CS’s throttle response is sharpened by pressing the Sport button, and the small on/off button on the steering wheel turns off the traction control to let the chassis start moving without allowing things go out of control. A rocker switch on the seat tightens the side bolsters a little bit. In other words, the car can be changed from a set of cozy pajamas to a pair of lycra running shorts by pressing a few buttons.
