I’m happy for you, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason to these timetables. I placed my pre-order on June 1, but as of yesterday, when I called the genius line, I was still in bld week 14.
Jan. 15 – I only requested a manufacturing number from the dealer after seeing others on the forum.

The procedure is the same as when we previously ordered new BMW i3 vehicles. But the shipping takes much longer because it must board a ship, travel over the Atlantic, dock in a port in the United States, then be examined by BMW before being sent to the dealership. BMW ships its Leipzig, Germany-made BMW I vehicles to the United States via the port of Bremerhaven. Our first BMW i3 arrived at the port and boarded a boat right away, while our second BMW i3 had to wait for days for its ship to arrive.

According to what other users on this forum have said, it remains in this position for a short period before moving fast through the other stages. I anticipate that it will be completed by Thanksgiving based on what my SA has told me.
11/6 Update: This morning I checked, and mine is already at the “Entering Assembly Line” state.
Production Begins denotes the assignment of the VIN and the ordering or allocation of the parts, not the start of assembly. You are often in this position for two weeks, but it is not uncommon for it to be longer or shorter.
Just to give you an idea, here is the timetable for my X5 X40i: the order was placed on October 5 and the status shortly changed to “Product commences.” I didn’t see any status changes until the leap to Dispatched from factory on October 22. Since October 27, it has been in the “In transit” status. My SA said mine ought to arrive at the dealer by the following weekend. Yours might be a little quicker since you are on the east coast and won’t need to take the lengthy train travel that mine is currently taking to get to the west coast.
I appreciate everyone sharing their insights with me.
