The duration may vary depending on how frequently you drive; I am on level 2, and it lasts for a few months. Level 2 is ideal and you will be aware that it is functioning, but not

hello there, I have the ambient air package on my X3 m40i. My automobile has been in my possession for about two months, and now it informs me that my cartridges are empty. Why only last one month each? They still contain some perfumed oil. It appears to have a digital gauge similar to printers. I’ve heard on other boards that the fifth and seventh series last 6 to 9 months. My automobile has 4000 kilometers on it right now.
I’ve had the car on setting 1 since I picked it up at the end of December, and the low cartridge alert only started to appear last week. Daily use for at least 4 months at a setting of 1 is recommended. Each replacement costs $50 Canadian.
I adore the concept of a scent element, but even if it were a choice here, I wouldn’t pick it. Not at all.
Since they are present in everything, it is impossible to totally eliminate them, but I no longer purchase scented candles, sprays, or other products for the home or automobile.
Is the Ionization air purification feature in iDrive available to everyone or is it only available to those who have the Ambient Air Package (Vehicle Settings>Climate Functions>Air Quality>Ionization)?
cvee – Thank you for the post. I concur that artificial perfumes should be eliminated (or at least limiting them as much as possible). All artificial smells make my mum pretty unwell (perfumes, scented candles, air fresheners, scented shampoos & lotions, cleaning products, etc.)
I do, however, enjoy pleasant scents, so I was wondering if anyone had tried to use pure essential oils to refill the cartridges.
It is not mentioned in the ambient air package description on the BMW Canada website. For one fact, it offers no written description at all, leaving us to infer what it contains. The only things I know are that I have the ionization feature and the ultimate package, which isn’t much of a help, but I seem to remember my BMW genius mentioning it was a part of the ambient air package.

How long do air fresheners for cars last?
Since automobile fragrance refills only last 4 to 6 weeks, it better smell excellent! The duration of the aroma, though, can vary depending on a few circumstances.
You have no control over a few factors that determine how long your air freshener distributes a perfume into your car, such as:
- a lot of altitude
- extreme variations in temperature
- Consistent usage of the climate control in your car
If you use liquid air fresheners, it might be difficult to determine when to replace them because most automobile smells still have liquid in the fragrance capsule long after the aroma has faded. It’s okay to replace it every four weeks to maintain your car smelling good, in my opinion.

Can you buy BMW cologne?
Purchasing potpourri makes absolutely no sense to men. Considering that it is primarily made up of the leaves, wood shavings, sticks, and other trash that is typically found in compost heaps, it doesn’t even smell pleasant to our sensitive noses.
Even though the label says “Summer Beach Breeze,” all we can smell is a sickeningly sweet perfume that causes us to tear up. On the other hand, if some mad scientist ever created “manpourri,” we’d buy it in ten-pound bags and case quantities if it smelled like race gas, brake dust, burnt rubber, and other racetrack scents.
The Shave Den in Bedford, Virginia, claims that their fragrance “captures the essence of the race track,” including aromas of burning rubber, fuel, and motor oil. Even if it won’t have any effect on attracting the opposite sex, we’re pretty sure we’d still buy the substance in 55-gallon barrels.
The PGA Tour players’ test drive program is promoted through floor graphics in hotels (and in rooms) as part of BMW’s advertising effort. Although we are unsure if it has contributed to the sales of M Series vehicles, we are positive that BMW is passing up a lucrative opportunity in its showrooms. We advise selling 15w-50 cologne and expecting M Series buyers to follow.
Which vehicle has the finest ambient lighting?
The Kia Soul was one of the first mainstream vehicles to include ambient lighting. The speakers’ surrounds on the previous two generations had colored lights that changed color in time with the music. The interior of the new Soul has fresh themes and lit trim, making the space feel cozier. To customize the ambiance to your mood, you can select anything from a dance floor to a serene coffee shop ambience. With 64-color ambient lighting, featuring seven unique themes created in collaboration with the Pantone Color Institute, Kia’s premium K900 sedan kicks things up a level. Ambient lighting, which brightens the inside of sports cars like the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro, is another feature. In the former, you can even customize the color of the instrument cluster.
The ambient lighting in new cars from luxury manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, and BMW is some of the most colorful. Luxury car manufacturers like Bentley and Rolls-Royce boost the grandeur factor by integrating ambient lighting to produce stunning visual effects. For instance, Rolls-Royce uses fiber optic strands embedded in the headliner to transform the inside into a stunning night sky. High-end sound systems in Bentleys have illuminated door speakers to draw attention to detailed (and lovely) details.

Can air fresheners for cars harm your vehicle?
WIVB/BUFFALO, NY – If you don’t strictly adhere to the directions, those automobile air fresheners that hang on your rearview mirror could cause major damage to the interior of your vehicle despite their inexpensive and innocent appearance.
Ask Jim Diavastes, please. The air freshener in his minivan was a distraction while it was hanging from the rearview mirror, so he moved it to an air vent tab and set it against a dashboard switch.
Jim tried to remove the air freshener from the knob one morning after noticing it was stuck there “Plastic also stretched off with it as I removed it. I fully pulled it off and saw that the knob appeared to be covered in goo.”
In fact, the knob had melted due to the air freshener, and Diavastes speculated that “some chemical inside this air freshener doesn’t like plastic.”
Not by himself, Jim: However, the package for Diavastes’ air freshener, as with many other car air freshener products, offers cautionary advice. A web search reveals that many of these hanging car fresheners have also melted plastic or harmed car upholstery.
“To prevent discoloration of any nearby surfaces, air fresheners should hang freely. Avoid making touch with painted, varnished, painted, or plastic surfaces.”
However, Diavastes notes that it does not inform you of the other repercussions: “I found a number of listings around the country from people with various makes and models of automobiles that say, don’t buy this type of air freshener because it will melt the dashboard.”
There have been incidents of the automotive air fresheners ruining the interiors of vehicles for hundreds of dollars. Fortunately for Jim, his injuries are not severe.
“It melted what appears to be the top layer of vinyl on the dashboard and ruined the back vent knob. Because I don’t want to leave a fingerprint or make it worse than it already is, I am afraid to touch it.”
