You may electronically adjust the side mirrors on your BMW by pressing the button on the inside of the driver’s door. Thanks! That was the cause of the conduct. Due to its inconsistent nature, I was unable to understand what alters it. There were three places in my Acura (and actually most of the cars I drove; I rent a lot, but it’s usually Japanese, Korean, and American automobiles): right, middle, and left. In order to lower the Left and Right mirrors, the mirrors are adjusted Left and Right. The middle setting prevents mirror lowering and, in turn, any mirror adjustment. Since there are only two seats available, at first it did not make sense.

Contrary in the Audi, but I believe my 2015 X5 operated in a similar manner. One feature of the Audi that I do enjoy is that you can change the tilt angle at which the passenger mirror drops. It’s useful to know how it functions in the G05.
Yes, this is exactly how my Mercedes operates. You can manually move the mirror while it is tilted down, and it will remember that position for the next time. Being able to parallel park on the left side of the road is made possible by the fact that I have the driver’s side programmed to operate differently from the passenger’s side. incredibly useful tiny “Easter egg.”
The technique is the same if you ever find yourself in a BMW (new or old). Since my 1991 e32 735iL, 1995 e34 540iT, e38 740iL, e39 540iT, e53 X5 4.4, and f06 650ix GC, the pass mirror tilt feature has been turned off by switching the side mirror control switch to the passenger side. I don’t ask questions like this very often, but how is this a thread? This has been a practice for BMW for approximately 20 years.
It may have been done for twenty years, but when I learned about it, it was brand-new to me. I just realized that since my friend’s e90 did it at the time rather than mine.
If I ever parallel park, I will be able to view the curb better without the car tilting because my mirrors are aimed well enough.

I have to add to this discussion, however when I shift into reverse, my passenger mirror no longer points down. Is this also a coding issue?
When the right side of the mirror is selected using the switch to adjust it, the mirror will look down at the curb; when the left side is selected, the right side mirror will not. It’s in the drivers’ manual, at least for left-hand drive US vehicles.

You likely don’t have the mirrors adjusted. To activate the reverse fold down, there should be a small square button that you may move to the left or right.
Only the driver’s side mirror can be tilted. Make sure the armrest adjuster switch is not set to the right mirror if it isn’t tilting; doing so prevents the mirror from tilting.

How are reverse tilt mirrors activated?
When in Reverse, push the mirror selector switch to the left (L) position to tilt the driver’s door mirror. When in Reverse, push the mirror selection switch to the right (R) position to tilt the passenger’s door mirror. Push the switch to the middle position to turn off the feature.
On a BMW x1, how do you disable the side mirrors?
Either the comfort access lock on the door handle or the key fob lock button can be used for this. Your mirrors will fold in if you just keep it there for a short while.
When you hold the lock choices, you can program it to activate for a shorter time.
When employing this feature, the side mirrors will retract back to normal when you open or unlock your doors.
I recently purchased a used 2018 X1 Sport. I’ve tried briefly depressing the lock button on the key fob, but the door mirrors will not fold. Do ALL X1 models have the ability to fold, or may I only have a simpler model without this capability? In the car settings, I don’t find anything that would enable this. Can I manually fold if necessary if auto folding is not possible? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks
Your mirrors should be able to be folded if you have a button by the mirror controls. It must be coded if you want it to fold automatically each time you lock the car. Invoking BimmerCode
I appreciate your response, Rounderman. Only buttons to modify each mirror are present by the X1 mirror controls. Therefore, I’m considering the possibility that my model doesn’t support that function.
