BMW X5’s Android Auto is not functional.
When you attempt to connect your Android phone to your car, if the Android Auto option does not appear on the X5’s infotainment system, there may be a number of causes:
- Your X5’s infotainment system settings have Android Auto turned off.
- Make sure Android Auto is installed and has the appropriate permissions if it isn’t already on your phone.
- Verify that both Bluetooth and WiFi are turned on in your mobile device.
- You’re attempting a USB cable connection. Android Auto is not supported by the BMW X5 when connected via USB. There is only available wireless Android Auto via Bluetooth.
- Android Auto’s issue is a result of a software error. A factory reset of the X5’s infotainment system might help. Additionally, go to Settings > Apps > Android Auto > Storage on your phone and clear the data and cache for the Android Auto app.

Beginning in July 2020, BMW will begin incorporating Android Auto into its vehicles, the carmaker announced on Wednesday.
