The event featured live musical performances by Janelle Monae, Billy Porter, Deborah Cox, and Luisa Sonza in addition to the vehicle display. Grand marshals from the LGBT+ community, like Dan Levy of Schittas Creek, are also included in the program.

For Pride Month, Jonathan Adler just unveiled a BMW convertible.
What happens when a renowned luxury automobile manufacturer hires a prominent designer to create cars in honor of Pride Month? In support of BMW’s #GoWithPride campaign, Jonathan Adler was given that specific assignment for the WorldPride NYC Parade on June 28.
For the occasion, which also honors the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, Adler, a well-known figure in the NYC LGBTQIA+ community, has created a customized fleet of BMW 8 Series convertibles. Naturally, the cars also got the Adler treatment; they have a heart-shaped rainbow motif wrapped around their hoods.
Trudy Hardy, vice president of marketing for BMW of North America, stated that the company “believes in equality for everyone and is delighted to support the LGBTQIA+ community by partnering with everyone in celebrating Pride Month.” “Jonathan Adler designed a beautiful design that symbolizes a spirit of unity and cooperation while also conjuring the fun and uplifting characteristics that people connect with Jonathan, not only as an excellent designer but as an activist within the community,” said a source.
We spoke with Adler, who will be driving a BMW, to find out more about the collaboration and his dedication to helping the Pride community.
Jonathan Adler: My life revolves around my BMW, which I drive. Driving is enjoyable as a result. The fact that this initiative combines two of my favorite things—cars and the Pride movement—has made it an incredible thrill.
JA: This year marks both the 50th anniversary of Stonewall and the largest Pride celebration ever. Additionally, this year marks my 30th year residing in New York. It represents how far the homosexual community has gone and is a monumental milestone for me.
The Pride Parade took place when I first moved to New York, which was a really depressing moment for the LGBTQ community. The AIDS crisis had just reached its peak. Pride can now be a joyful celebration when I consider all the advancements we have made in the fights against AIDS and for civil rights. The chance to have a great time comes with pride.
ED: What kind of cars did you envision for the BMW 8 Series? There are also #GoWithPride license plates, which further emphasize the design’s originality.
Adler: I aimed for the motion of driving in the rainbow design. A cool heart and a black-and-white checkered pattern are both present. It is graphic and stylish. In my work, I’ve also started using a lot of rainbow imagery. For instance, the rainbow theme made appropriate because I have a motif called a dripping rainbow.

He is developing strategies for a more inclusive and welcoming business future for all people.
We highlighted George Carrancho, a man who discovered his purpose on the first day he began working at a hotel chain while still a college student, as we progressed through the month. George decided at that point that travel would be his life. Travel, in George’s opinion, “unites the world,” thus after years of shaping a major airline’s LGBTQ+ marketing, he started his own business, Geo Lux Experiences, which specializes in providing unique experiences with a warm, caring human touch.
Then, we had a conversation with industry pioneer Sandra Escalante. Sandra has carved out a name for herself in the building sector for more than 33 years. She is altering narratives and defying expectations in her role as president of Laner Electric Supply Co., a wholesale distributor of electrical construction materials, lighting equipment, and tools. Her woman- and minority-owned business, which is the only LGBTQ+ certified electrical supplier in the United States, has done business with some of the biggest corporations in the world.

The newest campaign from Calvin Klein, This is Love, which debuted today, honors specific LGBTQIA+ families. The diverse range of deliberate and significant connections that exist within the LGBTQIA+ community are highlighted by our cast of friends, partners, lovers, neighbors, allies, and more as they discuss what family means to them. The brand’s new collection, which takes a fresh look to Pride, is featured in the advertisement.
The cast of the campaign, which John Edmonds photographed in the emotionally charged manner of a picture album, consists of LGBTQIA+ pioneers, celebrities, and campaigners. In addition to actors John Waters and Mink Stole, Sasha Lane and Sergio Lane, musicians Snail Mail and her band, the venerable ballroom House of Xtravaganza, hairstylist Holli Smith and her fiancé Pony, actors Justice Smith and his actor boyfriend Nic Ashe, and the Afrofuturistic arts collective TRIBE are all featured in the campaign. The cast is photographed with their loved ones in intimate moments of intimacy, quiet moments of connection, and playful expressions of their relationship while dressed in “This is Love” clothing and other essentials by Calvin Klein. Through the eyes of Calvin Klein, this is what family looks like: unconventional, unwavering, and genuine.
The colors used in the “This is Love” line, which includes sportswear, lingerie, and outerwear, were taken from the Progress Pride Flag. A woven label attached to each piece explains what each color of the Flag stands for: Black is associated with beauty, Brown with strength, Pink with sex, Orange with healing, Yellow with sunshine, Tan with harmony, White with nonbinary, Turquoise with magic, and Blue with serenity. In a tribute to the intersectionality present across the LGBTQIA+ range of sexualities, gender identities, and sex characteristics, the Reimagined Heritage Underwear collection includes bands and materials with swirled mixes of these hues.
Calvin Klein has pledged $400,000 to fund NGOs working for LGBTQIA+ rights, advocacy, safety, and justice since 2022.
Three staff members of The Trevor Project, the largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization in the world for young people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning, are highlighted in the advertisement. The Trevor Project, which offers vital 24/7 crisis services through phone, text, and chat, suicide prevention initiatives, and other resources for LGBTQIA+ young people, their families, educators, and supporters, is supported by Calvin Klein as a proud supporter and financial sponsor.
As the global voice of LGBTQIA+ networks, communities, and movements devoted to fostering a world where everyone may live in safety, equality, and freedom, Calvin Klein also supports ILGA World’s projects.

The LGBTQIA+ Employee Resource Group (ERG) at Samsung Electronics America, Samsung Equality Alliance, is hosting an internal virtual event to give staff members a forum to share their experiences with their peers in honor of LGBT History Month and National Coming Out Day, which are observed every October. The Samsung Equality Alliance, one of the company’s five ERGs, is committed to supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and its sympathizers.
The purpose of National Coming Out Day is to raise awareness of the importance of October 11th for the LGBTQIA+ community and to encourage them to celebrate their strength and self-acceptance while continuing the struggle for equality. We had an open discussion with Austin Akers and Johanne Millet-Stanziale, two members of the Equality Alliance ERG leadership team, before Samsung’s employee event to learn more about their own coming out experiences and what these moments meant to them. This conversation serves as proof of the effectiveness of personal stories.
Everyone’s experience of coming out leaves a mark. Sharing our experiences with one another is powerful. It is a joyful experience for some, scary or difficult for others.

With the release of its new adidas Pride line, one of the most recognizable sportswear and footwear companies in the world has returned with inspiring and daring new looks in support of the LGBTQ community. They have joined up with LGBT artist Kris Andrew Small this year to honor people who have advanced society in the past as well as to raise awareness of the community’s current voices.
The Stonewall Activists Uprising in 1969 served as the inspiration for the adidas x Kris Andrew Small Pride collection, with the street style capsule bearing the straightforward “Love Unites” statement. The collection includes a range of graphic t-shirts, skirts, hats, and jackets, as well as sneakers including the Stan Smith, Forum, and Superstar (in case you need a little additional support for marching in parades this year).
Sydney-based Small is well known for his upbeat artistic expression, but he also uses his work to address social concerns including promoting acceptance of the LGBTQ population and raising public awareness of them. According to Small, the idea behind the collection was to “highlight all the great sides of being gay and how far we as a community have gone.” However, it’s also important to remind people that there are still a lot of weak and oppressed members of the community.
Along with the Pride collection, adidas has maintained its collaborations with Athlete Ally and Stonewall UK, two significant charities that support the neighborhood. Athlete Ally is committed to eradicating homophobia and transphobia in sports, whereas Stonewall UK has spent the last 30 years working to improve the lives of many LGBTQ people.
