When assessing any examples at the dealership, let cooled or ventilated chairs a minute or two to take effect since they take some time to warm up like heated seats do. One or more ventilation fans inside the chair will begin to sound when they are turned on. Depending on the car, noise levels, underlying technologies, and overall efficacy all differ. Some seats blow outside air in your direction, some of which may have already been cooled. In contrast, some seats drive air away to force perspiration out.
Some manufacturers, like Nissan and Lexus, provide both systems; some of their vehicles are suction-style while others are blower-style. According to Jonathan Buhler, a spokesman for Nissan Technology, the automaker’s engineers “discovered that while “fan placement and execution is crucial, a well-executed [suction] system is just as good at cooling” as a system that blasts cold air. ” The suction-style ventilation used by Lexus, according to company spokesman Josh Burns, “is able to ‘cool’ down the top of the seat faster [than blower-style ventilation] due to this way of not needing to pump the air through the seat padding.”
Almost always, heated seats are paired with, or in addition to, cooled or ventilated seats. Most only function while the heated seats are off, but a few, like BMW’s suction-style ventilated seats, can be used in conjunction with seat heaters to provide a hot yet ventilated environment. According to BMW spokesman Oleg Satanovsky, “ventilated seats may operate alongside seat heating components, allowing both heat and moisture removal at the same time,” because the ventilation “allows air to be drawn through a person’s garments into the seat, helping cool and remove moisture.”
Cooled or vented seats are available in all rows, whether or whether they are combined with heated seats. Although some vehicles equip the back seats as well, the front seats are typically required.

A BMW’s seats cooled?
Contrary to popular belief, BMWs do not truly feature chilled seats. Although some BMW models do have heated seats, they do not have a cooling feature. For some who were looking forward to an invigorating rush of cool air each time they climbed into their automobile, this may come as a bit of a letdown. Nevertheless, BMW makes up for this error in other ways. For instance, several BMW models have vents that aim cooling air at the user’s face and feet.
There is still no common design for this cooling system, despite the fact that numerous auto manufacturers do include it in their cars. Mercedes-Benz, Infiniti, and Lexus models are some of the most popular vehicles with cooled seats, but BMWs are among the vehicles that are least likely to have this feature.
BMWs do not have air conditioning and do not have heated steering wheels either. Another characteristic that is present in many other premium vehicles but is absent from BMW models is this one.

These include a welcoming and roomy interior, superior handling and performance, and chic styling. So, whether you’re shopping for a new BMW or another luxury brand, you can be sure to locate the ideal vehicle for you that has cooled seats.
We may infer that BMWs lack chilled seats, but the firm more than makes up for this by offering a wealth of other options that make their automobiles a fantastic option for luxury cars. People are expecting an increasing number of features in their cars as a result of technological advancements that could improve the driving experience. There are numerous premium automakers that have previously created seats with adjustable cooling or heating. These include the headrest-mounted Volvo air conditioning vents, which let drivers customize the environment to their liking. Depending on the model chosen, some other automakers may offer this technology as an optional extra while others may include it as standard equipment on specific models.
