There are many assertions that you need a flatdeck, but they are more often founded on owner paranoia than on BMW information or criteria. There are a lot of inaccuracies in this material. Yes, you can flat tow an X5, at least a pre-X Drive model (because that’s what mine is, I know what the owner’s handbook says).
