Unfortunately, there are a few reasons why this unique Vantablack BMW X6 nicknamed “The Beast” is not up for sale. The use of vantablack paint on common automobiles is not sustainable, the cost of the darkest black paint is prohibitive, and there are some concerns regarding the general road safety of the vehicle given the color.

What is the price of a Vantablack BMW?
By applying the Vantablack VBx2 coating to the vehicle, BMW is commemorating the release of the X6 SUV’s new generation. MSRP for the 2020 X6 without the coating is $64,300.
How can I apply Vantablack paint on my car?
The traditional vantablack paint cannot be used on automobiles. I did quite a bit of research on this.
Using an electrophoresis chemical vapor process, vantablack is a real black color that is created by depositing carbon nano-tubes along the surface that it is sprayed to. It requires practice and meticulous execution only to apply it. The structure bends readily and has weak adherence to the surface. No coating or resin can maintain the structure and light absorption.
A black paint called Vantablack is available for use on automobiles. However, it won’t look good unless the car is kept inside, isn’t in contact with anything, and isn’t covered in dust.
Some coatings, which are more durable and less prone to wear, have a light-blocking percentage of more than 95%. On the other side, the cost would be around $50,000 if you wanted to get close to the desired results without bodywork.
For any vehicle, VBx2 is a paint that is reasonably durable. Even if it’s challenging to perform VBx2 “properly,” it’s the best “paint” option for cars. But it doesn’t last nearly as long as the majority of car paints.
Applying a matte black wrap, a clear matte tint wrap on top of that, and then a matte polymer finish is the best technique to achieve a long-lasting black finish. In comparison to matte paint or clear, which are more durable and most likely to cost less than $20,000, that gives you a deeper and blacker color.
Can Vantablack be used to a vehicle?
With its “Vantablack” X6, which can absorb 99.965 percent of all light that strikes it, BMW grabbed headlines last year. If it were to be seen on the streets, it would be the darkest item there. The makers of Vantablack paint, Surrey NanoSystems, have indicated that the paint isn’t truly intended for autos and that it isn’t available for purchase by private consumers. Even if it were, the price would be prohibitive.
However, other individuals simply adore the forbidden fruit, and they have discovered Vantablack paint’s substitute. Here, we have a video provided by DipYourCar that demonstrates the next best thing—a Mitsubishi Lancer painted in “Mosou Black.” This paint, made by the Japanese company KoPro, is also not intended for use on automobiles, although it may be bought.
Musou black doesn’t absorb light as much as Vantablack does. Only 99.4% of light is absorbed by the latter, but who can tell the difference, right? The entire painting technique is demonstrated in the video, which wasn’t particularly difficult; the YouTuber merely loads the paint into a spray gun canister and starts spraying.
The car receives a total of five coats of paint, although the paint seems too delicate to be useful. After drying, it develops a powdery layer that is readily glossed or peeled off upon gentle touch with anything. It wouldn’t take much to ruin the paint job on the road, where it would be exposed to the weather. Despite this, the finished product does seem fantastic, if only briefly.
Musou black is too dark, and the exterior’s finer features are completely absent. The only items that can be seen visually are the wheels, headlights, taillights, front grille, air vents, and the glass area. Everything else is unpainted. This appears to be a large pile of black with a few car-like elements overall.
We enjoyed this entire activity despite how silly and juvenile it was. Even though KoPro recommends using an airbrush to apply this paint, you can still obtain 98.8% light absorption using a conventional paintbrush, which is very astounding. The price of a 100ml bottle of Musou black on the company’s official website is 2,500 Yen (about Rs. 1,770), not including delivery fees.
What is the name of BMW black?
BMW meets Vantablack light-absorbing paint to create the black beast. An international premiere without the spotlights: The first company to build a car coated in the darkest black using light-absorbing paint is BMW. But from where does this supreme black originate? And why is it so unique?
BMW carbon black: what is it?
In the shade or in overcast light, Black Sapphire changes from a very deep black to a very bright metallic in the sun. In full sunlight, Carbon Black likewise has a very strong metallic, perhaps even more so than BSM, yet in shadow or overcast light, it seems to be a muted blue color.

In the US, is Vantablack prohibited?
Wild optical illusions exist. But we think that this one is the strangest we’ve ever seen. Vantablack, a recently created hue, may be the coolest color ever. However, using it is actually prohibited.
The color was developed by British business Surrey NanoSystems especially for the military. The business refers to it as “the darkest synthetic material.” It is genuinely the darkest substance that has ever existed. Vantablack also nearly completely absorbs light. Even three-dimensional objects appear flat as a result of it.
Is Vantablack blacker than Black 3.0?
Although the product description acknowledges that the studio is “not actually sure” it is the brightest pink ever, it is just “the pinkest we could come up with, and we’ve not seen anything pinker,” one of Culture Hustle’s best-known products is a powdered paint nicknamed the “world’s pinkest pink.”
The product came with a warning forbidding the British-Indian sculptor — or anybody working on his behalf — from purchasing it. It was created in direct response to Kapoor’s Vantablack contract. Semple said that this action was in and of itself art, referring to the disclaimer as a “poem.”
The thought was, “What if everyone in the world could have the pink except for that one person?” The product was meant to “create a discourse in a debate about ownership and elitism and privilege and access to the arts,” Semple continued.
Kapoor’s studio continues to maintain an exclusive license to the technology, which “limited the coating’s application in the realm of art, but does not extend to any other industries,” according to Surrey NanoSystems, the British company that made Vantablack.
According to NanoSystems, vantablack is “usually not suited for usage in art due to the manner it is made” because it isn’t made as paint or pigment in the conventional sense. Vantablack S-VIS, a spray-on version of the chemical, needs to be applied by a “expert,” according to the manufacturer. In 2016, the business made the decision to exclusively provide Kapoor the artistic rights.
Semple was one of many artists who opposed the agreement. In an interview with The Guardian, Kapoor defended himself by claiming, “It’s a partnership because I want to pressure Surrey NanoSystems to use it for a particular purpose. I’ve worked with individuals that produce items out of stainless steel for years, and that’s unique.”
He claimed that if he had licensed a shade of white, the reaction would have been different due to the “emotive” force of white. He answered, “Maybe the blackest black is the black we carry within ourselves.

The conflict developed into one of the most well-known rivalries in contemporary art. Eventually, Kapoor obtained Semple’s paint and uploaded a photo of himself flipping a middle finger tinted pink to Instagram with the message “up yours”; Semple referred to this action as “sort of nasty and wrong.”
Since his “pinkest pink,” Semple has gone on to produce a hue called “Easy Klein: IKB Incredibly Kleinish Blue,” which bears an uncanny resemblance to International Klein Blue. Additionally, his studio claims to produce the “greenest green” and, more importantly, the “blackest black” paint.
Vantablack, which absorbs about 99.96% of visible light, is not actually darker than Culture Hustle’s “BLACK 3.0” acrylic paint. (Semple claimed that his invention absorbs “between 98% and 99%” of the energy). Semple’s products are pigment-based, unlike Vantablack, which is a structural color derived from lab-grown carbon nanotubes that are about a millionth of a millimeter in diameter. However, according to Semple, the effect is the same: To the unaided eye, objects covered in his darkest paint appear flat.
Semple remarked, “You and I don’t really have developed enough eyes to be able to measure it. It’s somewhat less absorbent than Vantablack.

What’s more ominous than Vantablack?
The aircraft industry is interested in this new blackest black. Black coatings that can block glare are advantageous for instruments like telescopes and cameras used for astronomical research.
“Would you find it interesting to observe Earth circling another star? Something really black is required “declared John Mather, an astrophysicist and Nobel laureate.
“And for this black to sustain a rocket launch, it must be robust. Older versions were delicate fur forests, but the newer ones are more like pot scrubbers—built to withstand abuse.”
The MIT team has worked with Diemut Strebe, artist-in-residence at the MIT Center for Art, Science, and Technology, to demonstrate the material’s potential in addition to publishing a study on the subject.
The brilliant stone is covered in the substance by Strebe, making a $2 million (PS1.6 million) 16.78-carat natural yellow diamond appear as a hovering black emptiness. Redemption of Vanity is the title of the work.
There is strong competition to create and maintain the blackest black. Vantablack is a paint notably owned by artist Anish Kapoor, which led Stuart Semple to create Black 3.0, a competing acrylic paint that Kapoor is forbidden from using.
Someone will ultimately discover a blacker substance, and once we fully comprehend the underlying principles, we will be able to construct the ultimate black.
