You can install the coil pad beneath the non-metallic material on your center console or dashboard, run the power to the fuse box, battery, or a hidden USB charging port, and you’ll have a permanent wireless charging location (as long as the non-metallic material is less than three or four millimeters thick to allow the energy from the induction coils to reach the receptor coils in your phone). If there isn’t a practical place to mount the charging pad, you can make a custom change tray with a thinner base. Depending on the model of your automobile, this may be a relatively simple “hack” or a custom project taking many hours, but in either case, it will be less expensive than purchasing a new vehicle and more attractive than a retail charger.
