Have a separate scanner scan the ECU. The MAF could be having problems, which would explain the tranny code.
Chris Powell, a technical expert for BMW, says:
Check for leaks by smoking the intake system. Personally, I would carry out this step prior to mounting the MAF because significant leaks result in wildly inaccurate MAF values.
Torque Interface CAN code in the transmission and limp mode are caused by egregiously inaccurate MAF readings or a failed MAF.
There are two additional compelling hypotheses for your symptoms:
ASC Throttle Body Stuck (If your vehicle has this, make sure to give it a thorough cleaning with rags and carb cleanser and check that the throttle blade cycles when the ignition is turned on.)
