For 2018, the X3 underwent a revamp, and it was successful. The center is now 3 inches bigger and can hold more boosters and car seats than before. Additionally, 2C now has an adjustable seatbelt buckle.
The X3 and the X30 M40 are the 2 different models of the X3. The M40 (a more expensive version of the X3) includes a reclining option for the back seats, although the back seats in the X3 are similar.
Although the head restraint on 2C cannot be removed, there is space for a tether strap to slide through.

Anyone with an X3 with three child seats installed? Twins are on the way for Mrs. Swamp…
We will have to fit in two Group 0+ seats and one Group 1 seat because we already have a three-year-old.
It appears to be a bit of a squeeze even if we purchase small seats, and I’m not even sure how safe it will be. Isofix probably won’t work either
My wife tried it with our 2-year-old’s seat and a friend’s baby and 2-year-old’s seats, but she gave up since she didn’t want to use ISOFIX on the middle seat. I’ll ask her how far she made it. I believe it is feasible with moderately wide seats, but you risk losing ISOFIX entirely because even the side seats must be pushed more out than ISOFIX would permit.
I have one rear-facing seat in the back and one front-facing seat (both with cup holders), which about fills up the entire seating space. There is little enough space to even take out the middle armrest.
If not for extremely narrow & barely padded chairs, I don’t believe three child seats are even doable.
However, child seats in the US are thickly padded & broader because of nhtsa rules & crash test ratings.
Congratulations… However, a 3-child seat cannot fit. Two of the car seats I have for my twins are already too small. My wife tried to sit with them in the middle but found it difficult to shift because she is little (her waist is approximately the width of a booster seat).
Strangely, a few individuals have posted that it categorically won’t fit three despite never having attempted to put three seats inside, only two. Of course, it varies on each person’s width, but I’m confident that my wife and her friend had three in the back seat of our X3 but were unable to use ISOFIX since it prevented the seat from being close enough to the door.
I attempted to fit our current narrow group 1 seat with two (supposedly) narrow group 0+ infant seats that I purchased. Simply said, they don’t go together. The infant car seats are angled and come in contact with the doors. Yes, for a single, brief trip, but the X3 won’t accommodate three car seats on a regular basis.
I’m going to look at Multimac, but it’s quite pricey and will limit the flexibility of the car because it’s a bench across the back seats that is semi-permanent.
I’m happy to report the arrival of two healthy twin boys. Mother and children should be leaving the hospital in the X3 soon. I haven’t sold the automobile yet and I’m hoping I won’t.
The car has been excellent during the past week, I have to say. I’ve been driving it nonstop to the hospital, dropping swamp Jr. off at family in the country, picking up the mother-in-law from the airport, and other places. It hasn’t had any flaws. It was especially good during a last week at 1am urgent and *very* high-speed rush through SW London to the hospital.
Sincerely, I’m reconsidering getting a new car. I need to fit three car seats, but I believe we can make due with what we now have.
BMW X7
The Audi Q7 was the only SUV we examined that could accommodate our three child seats across its second row. With Isofix mounts, we utilized two Britax Romer seats, and a Maxi-Cosi Pebble Plus was belted in.
The BMW X5 (in optional seven-seat configuration) and Land Rover Discovery (which has seven seats as standard) were two other SUVs that could accommodate three child car seats, with older children occupying the third row. It would be feasible to fit three people in the middle row, though, if you use an Isofix-mounted seat as opposed to a seat that is belted in.
In any case, the second row of the BMW X3 cannot fit three kid seats because it is 11 cm thinner than the X5. Additionally, it is only 9 cm wider than the 3 Series Touring, so we don’t believe an adult would find it much more comfortable to sit between two child seats. Therefore, if you want the flexibility of being able to fit older kids in the third row, we’d advise choosing a seven-seat X5.
To be sure they fit, we usually advise car purchasers to try their child seats in any prospective purchase because child seats come in a variety of sizes.

The second row comfortably accommodates three child seats, and the handles above the back doors are in a great place for toy hooks. The Alpina XD3 has ample legroom, and we were able to accommodate a 180 cm driver in front of the rear-facing child seat.

We use a Britax Marathon convertible seat, a Graco TurboBooster seat, and a Graco SnugRide Classic Connect 30 infant safety seat for the Car Seat Check. A 6-foot driver and a shorter passenger can both fit comfortably in the front seats. The second row is equipped with the three child seats. The infant and convertible seats are installed behind the front passenger seat, while the booster seat is installed behind the driver’s seat.
In order to determine whether three car seats will fit in the vehicle, we also place the forward-facing convertible in the middle seat of the second row and the booster and infant seat in the outside seats. A child in the booster seat must be able to reach the seat belt buckle. We install the booster seat and a forward-facing convertible if there is a third row. Find out more about the car seat checks we perform. Additionally, parents need to be aware that the Latch system and seat belts can both be used to install a car seat, and that the combined weight of the kid and the seat itself cannot exceed 65 pounds when using a Latch anchor.

The second-row seats were quite comfortably able to accommodate three forward-facing child seats. The seat base is fairly deep and wide, making it simple to install three seats, and the two outside seats’ ISOFix pins are easy to connect to.

The Little Black Dress of vehicles is the 2020 BMW X1! It has a sleek, understated design and is a nice-looking automobile.
Inside The interior’s simplicity startled me a little, and the black plastic dash gave it a practical feel.
Swiping the touch screen or using the rotary dial in the center console makes it simple to navigate the system.
Reversing and maneuvering are made easier by the excellent, crystal-clear image provided by the reversing camera.
The 2020 BMW X1 has adequate storage space everywhere. Up front, there are cup holders, a cordless phone charger, a sizeable glove box, and door bins.
It’s wonderful to travel with small people because the back passengers also have air conditioning vents.
This little five-seater SUV includes top tether anchorages on the back of all three seats and ISOFix in the two outer rear seats. There are four more tether points on the back of the seats, but only two of them have labels indicating what they are for. I’m sure some customers would be understandably perplexed by this.
In the 2020 BMW X1, I just about managed to fit three forward-facing kid seats across the rear row.
However, fitting a mix of two forward-facing and one rear-facing proved simpler. We could accommodate a 180cm driver in front with the second row’s rear-facing child seat in place.
The 2020 BMW X1’s boot floor pulls down, allowing you to either access the underfloor storage or use it before putting it back down.
The boot can accommodate eleven shopping bags when it is empty. That is one less than the Volvo XC40 and one more than the Audi Q2.
With the boot floor lifted and a little grocery store, every style of stroller or pram can fit within!
One fantastic feature of the 2020 BMW X1 is that the Auto engine cut off button is conveniently located next to the start button, making it simple to remember to switch it off before a trip if you don’t want your children to be bothered.
Additionally, lane departure warning vibrates rather than making a sound, which is great for keeping our sleeping infants asleep!

Can the backseat accommodate three car seats?
Depending on the state you reside in, different states have different car seat regulations, but most safety experts concur that kids should ride in a car seat until they are 12 years old. Your child will spend over a decade switching between an infant carrier, a convertible car seat, and eventually a booster seat, depending on their height and weight.
Families with more than two young children may find this challenging because the backseat of your car can quickly become crowded. Because typical car seats are so wide, it is improbable that you could accommodate three of them in your backseat even if your vehicle has three latch anchors available.
To help parents put three car seats of various types across the back seat of their automobiles, car seat manufacturers have created narrow car seats.
