There is no start period if the CAS does not recognize the key. If the key and the CAS cannot correctly authenticate each other, the CAS will not release the starter motor for use.
Edit: The CAS or NFRM module has a remote start feature that would enable them to do it. Though I haven’t witnessed it being done in front of me.
