You’ve been there if you drive. You are driving along when all of a sudden your car seems to lean to one side, and you hear the “wump, wump, wump” of a flat tire. You could even hit the curb while parallel parking and not immediately notice any damage; in other cases, a bulge will appear in your sidewall as you drive. Until you replace the damaged tire with a spare or road service arrives to assist you, you are stranded wherever you are.
The majority of the time, you are responsible for repairing or replacing your tire on most cars. However, due to the disparity in tread wear and vehicle safety laws, you typically wind up replacing at least two tires. Unless you have the BMW tire and wheel warranty, which is available for all new and certified pre-owned BMWs, you are out at least several hundred dollars. What the warranty covers is listed below.
The BMW tire and wheel protection warranty covers typical wear and tear that may occur to your car while you’re driving normally. That implies that you are covered if you have a flat. The tire and wheel warranty specifically covers harm brought on by:
- foreign objects such as glass, dirt, nails, or metal
- roadblocks such as potholes
- concerns with tire integrity that are not the driver’s fault, such as a leaky stem, a blowout, or a weak tire wall
- Some concerns with tire integrity brought on by the driver
The best BMW tire and wheel warranty also covers the following in addition to the items listed above:
- All tires with wear remaining after 230 seconds are covered from wheel to wheel (adequate deductibles are required). The deductible is $50 per claim in some states.)
- Components for rims, tires, and related items that are guaranteed to be original equipment manufacturer replacements.
You receive more than just a standard equipment warranty when you pay for the BMW tire and wheel warranty. It gives you the assurance that BMW, known for its cars and customer support, will look out for you if you sustain typical tire or wheel damage. There are simply no short cuts; your warranty assures that damaged equipment, including tires, will be replaced rather than patched or plugged. There are no claim aggregates or limits on how frequently you can utilize the warranty, either.
The BMW tire and wheel warranty also includes up to $100 in towing costs, is transferrable if you buy a new BMW car or sell your old one, is unaffected by how many miles you travel, and continues even if you change your ties. All of that raises the value at resale.

No reference to a lifetime guarantee:
When a sudden loss of pressure occurs, Pirelli Run Flat tires are constructed with technology that enables limited low-inflation operation. All Pirelli-produced tires that are made with run-flat technology come with road hazard coverage because Pirelli does not advise the repair of run-flat tires. A completed claim form and the tire displaying the road hazard must be sent to Pirelli through an authorized Pirelli dealer in order to be eligible for Run Flat Road Hazard coverage.
During the initial warranty period, which is one year from the date of the original retail purchase of the vehicle or the purchase of replacement tires (a receipt for the purchase is required), or within the first 2/32″ of the original usable tread, whichever occurs first, a Run Flat tire will be replaced with an identical or comparable tire at no cost to the owner. If a Run Flat tire becomes unserviceable after the initial warranty period due to defects in the construction or materials or damage from a road hazard, the owner is responsible for paying the prorated cost of a similar new Pirelli replacement tire. The cost will be calculated by the authorized Pirelli dealer by calculating the amount of original, usable tread that has been worn out by the current dealer selling price. Any related service fees, such as those for mounting and balancing the tire, are the owner’s responsibility. It is not a warranty, this Road Hazard Policy. No one, not even authorized Pirelli dealers, are allowed to offer the guarantee that a Pirelli tire won’t fail as a result of a road hazard on their behalf.
Is tire rotation covered by the BMW warranty?
Gasoline, gasoline additives, windshield washer additives, tires, wheels, wheel alignment, tire balance, and tire rotation are excluded from coverage. Any work must be done by a BMW shop that is authorized to do so. To learn more and to learn about exclusions, consult the Service and Warranty Information pamphlet.
Are tires protected by warranties?
The basic warranty of the vehicle does not cover brand-new tires. Instead, the tire manufacturer provides the guarantee, which is described in a booklet that should be in your new car’s glove box. The tire warranty covers manufacturing flaws or early tire wear. In case you need to file a warranty claim and are required to show that the tires were properly maintained, make sure to keep the tires adequately inflated and keep track of any tire rotation receipts you may have.
What does a BMW warranty cover?

- Protection from bumper to bumper Bumper-to-bumper warranties from BMW are valid for 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. This warranty, which is also known as comprehensive or exclusionary coverage, covers the majority of repairs for mechanical failure caused by subpar materials or workmanship. Instead of offering a separate powertrain warranty, BMW covers the powertrain (engine, transmission, drivetrain, seals, gaskets, and related items) as part of this guarantee.

The duration of roadside support is up to six years if you are a BMW Certified owner. What nullifies the BMW warranty?
I want to change a couple things with my BMW. It is still covered under warranty at the moment, but I don’t want to unintentionally void it by performing any of these changes. Do certain modifications or other actions nullify a BMW warranty?
In less than two minutes, find out if your auto insurance is being overcharged.
A modification that results in mistakes or issues with components of the automobile covered by the initial BMW warranty is the only thing that could void the warranty. For instance, if replacing the exhaust system or changing a turbocharger for a supercharger results in the failure of a covered component, the warranty may be nullified.
The guarantee wouldn’t be nullified, though, if you switched to larger wheels or tires, tinted your windows, or covered your taillights in black. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975 provides federal protection for warranties, so as long as you don’t harm other components, you should be fine to go.
