A prototype of the upcoming electric member of the Audi A6 family has just been sighted.
The A6 E-Tron is the electric version, which Audi originally teased in 2021 with a barely covert concept version. Earlier this year, the carmaker followed up the original concept with an A6 Avant E-Tron concept, making it clear that the A6 E-Tron will be available in both sedan and wagon body styles (Avant is Audi’s term for wagons).
Since the production A6 E-Tron is scheduled to debut in 2023, it will probably hit showrooms as a 2024 model. It will face competition from high-end Tesla Model S hatchbacks as well as the Mercedes-Benz EQE sedan, which will go on sale for the 2023 model year.
The production A6 E-Tron will closely resemble the breathtaking concept, as our spy photos show. The production version is likely to have the same length as the idea, which was 195.3 inches in length and roughly the size of the A6 with internal combustion.
Of course, there will be minor variations, such as slightly greater ground clearance and real side mirrors in place of the camera stalks on the exhibition car. Although it’s not present here, we anticipate that the production vehicle will have the LED light bar that served as the concept’s taillights.
Unlike the idea, which only included the small slits that make up the daytime running lights at the top, you’ll notice that the headlights here are also made of twin parts. The related Q6 E-Tron SUV, which will be released later this year, will have a similar appearance.
The PPE (Premium Platform Electric) modular EV platform, which was principally created by Audi and Porsche, will be the foundation for the Q6 E-Tron and A6 E-Tron, two of the first automobiles to use it. The electric Macan, scheduled for release in 2023, will be the first Porsche to use the platform.
The A6 E-Tron will provide single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive, according to Audi. In the idea, Audi utilised a dual-motor configuration with a 469 horsepower and 590 lb-ft torque rating. The idea was also supposed to have a 100 kilowatt-hour battery with a range of more than 300 miles and the ability to charge from zero to eighty percent in just 25 minutes thanks to 800-volt technology. Additionally, the engineers at Audi Sport may release a powerful RS 6 E-Tron with more than 600 horsepower.
Despite the impending release of the A6 E-Tron by Audi, the present internal-combustion variant will continue to be sold for a few more years. To keep the vehicle fresh alongside its new electric sister, Audi plans a minor modification. However, Audi will only release EVs beginning in 2026.

What will the price of the A6 E-Tron be?
Audi previously unveiled two electric vehicle models that were almost ready for production, including the all-electric A6 E-Tron Concept, back to back last year. The Audi A6 Avant E-Tron Concept, which shares a platform with the future A6 EV sedan, offers a glimpse at the massive electric station wagon variant with an extremely long wheelbase. The battery-powered A6 Avant E-Tron, which will join the four-ring brand the following year, will essentially be the first electric station wagon offered in the United States.
Powertrain and Range
The A6 Avant E-Tron is built on the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE), which was created in collaboration with Porsche, the same platform as the A6 E-Tron sedan. Future models constructed on the PPE platform will have single- and dual-motor alternatives, but this idea has two electric motors for that crucial all-wheel-drive configuration for Audi (this is, after all, the quattro brand). With a combined output of 469 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, those dual motors can propel the E-Tron wagon to 60 mph in less than four seconds.
According to European WLTP ratings, the A6 Avant EV wagon has a 435-mile range and uses a 100 kWh battery pack. However, that mileage will undoubtedly vary dramatically after it is examined under American EPA criteria and may turn out to be far lower. Audi claims that it can add 186 miles of driving range in 10 minutes using rapid charging at up to 270 kW rates. It takes around 25 minutes to charge a battery from 5 to 80 percent when hooked into a fast-charging station.
A Quick Overview
195.6 inches long, 76.8 inches broad, and 56.4 inches high describe the Audi A6 Avant E-Tron. The luxurious family hauler is free of sharp edges and has a low-slung profile, an all-glass curved roof, small overhangs, a high beltline, and slanted D-pillars. It has 22-inch wheels and is painted in the warm gray color Neptune Valley, which has touches of iridescent gold when illuminated by the sun.
This concept automobile has cutting-edge external lighting from Audi that was created in-house. The LED headlights and OLED tail lamps can be customized by drivers with a variety of unique light signatures. Each side of the car has high-resolution projectors that illuminate the ground and serve as welcome lights and warning signals for approaching bikers.
Finally, while the battery is being recharged, users can enjoy video games on a XXL virtual screen that is projected onto the wall by the LED spotlights. (The vehicle must be parked facing a wall, of course.)
Design Analysis
The A6 Avant E-Tron shares the majority of the same design cues with its sedan sibling up front, making them practically similar. These feature enlarged air intakes, single-frame body-color grilles, flattened-out LED headlamps, gloss black intake surrounds, and an inlaid “E-Tron” emblem above the front lip. The streamlined aluminum trim pieces positioned below the air intakes offer a nice touch and a new level of dimension.
If you look at the side profile, you’ll notice that an aluminum molding strip runs from the bottom of the A-pillar to the rear spoiler along the roofline. The totally electric A6 Avant also receives camera-based side mirrors with a modern look in true E-Tron concept fashion. Gloss black inlays above the rocker panels are distinctive to the luxury automaker’s electric vehicles.
Towards the end, things pick up in dynamism. The rear diffuser includes two enormous air vents in the lower part, which is where it makes its most noticeable design statement. These sizable outlets are practical and direct airflow, unlike the ornamental exhaust tips featured on gas-fed sports automobiles. In light of this, the outlets are basically just artistically decorated but otherwise standard diffuser pieces, which contribute to improving high-speed stability by minimizing lift and turbulence and reducing aerodynamic drag.
The cleverly created roof spoiler also enhances aerodynamics. The rear end is accented by a full-width OLED tail light with the Audi insignia flush with the overall composition of lines.
Pricing and Availability
You may have noticed that we avoided talking about any inside specifics because they are still a secret. When it comes to the release date of a production-ready A6 Avant E-Tron, electric cars built on the new PPE platform will start to appear in 2023. Audi did not provide pricing information, although a starting price of between $75,000 and $85,000 seems about reasonable.

A hatchback, is the Audi A6 e-tron?
The A6 e-tron, a stylish sedan with all of the latest technology offered by the company, will be the next in line to make its premiere. Audi is currently expanding its lineup of e-tron electric vehicles. A driving range of more than 400 miles per charge is what Audi claims to be its goal. The A6 e-tron has all-wheel drive thanks to the two electric motors that power it, one on each axle. A standard feature that Audi promises will allow the car’s battery to charge from 5% to 80% of capacity in under 25 minutes is DC fast-charging. The A6 e-tron conceals a hatchback in its slanted rear roofline, unlike the gasoline-powered A6 sedan, giving buyers a sizable cargo capacity comparable to the current A7. Audi hasn’t yet given us a look inside the A6 e-tron, but we anticipate a fully loaded feature set for infotainment, high-end materials, and ample space inside for four persons to ride comfortably. The A6 e-tron is anticipated to make its debut in 2022 and go on sale in early 2023.
The best Audi A6 engine is…
The A6 offers two petrol options. The base model has a 2.0-liter petrol engine with 201 horsepower and a 45 TFSI with 261 horsepower is also available if you want a little bit more power. The 55 TFSI petrol, a 335bhp 3.0-litre V6 with a 5.1-second 0-62mph pace, is the model you select if you want the maximum performance, albeit it was phased out in 2021. The Audi RS6 Avant, which has approximately 600 bhp and sits at the top of the A6 range, can be compared to a supercar dressed in more practical clothing.

The A6’s kerb weight of 1780 kg, 165 mm of ground clearance, and 560 liters of boot space are some of its other important features. There are five color options for the A6. There are over 68 user reviews for the Audi A6 based on factors like mileage, performance, price, and overall satisfaction.
Etron’s range is extremely limited; why?
The GOM will estimate range using the most recent drive. In ANY car, the range will be significantly less than it would be on a long journey in summer if all of your travels are brief and the heat is blasting in winter. You are being informed of this by the GOM.
The km per kWh will be low if your trips to the grocery store or takeaway are only 2 km long while the heat is on high. Or there will be a high kWh per 100 km. Your actual range would be limited if all of your drives were like that.
Can I buy an Audi e-tron right away?
With the introduction of the Q4 e-tron and Q4 e-tron Sportback SUVs in 2022, Audi will double the size of its EV-focused e-tron lineup, which reflects the company’s ambitious goals in the luxury electric vehicle market. The Q4 siblings have a footprint that is similar to the small Q5 crossover and are smaller than the mid-size e-tron SUV. While a single 201-hp electric motor and a 77.0-kWh battery pack serve as the powertrain’s foundation, an optional 295-hp dual-motor system with all-wheel drive offers greater performance. According to claims, the battery pack can provide a driving range of up to 241 miles per charge. When the Q4 e-tron versions go on sale, they will compete with other small electric SUVs like the Tesla Model Y and the Volvo XC40 Recharge. By the end of 2021, the Q4 e-tron should be available at Audi dealerships.
