What does the acronym Audi DTM mean?

Which teams race in the DTM?

Are DTM vehicles GT3?

“We had anticipated for a more unified approach given our shared connection and the unique challenges the COVID-19 outbreak has brought us all. The future of the DTM now heavily hinges on how our partners and sponsors respond to this decision, which makes the current situation worse.”
DTM will essentially become a BMW spec series until another manufacturer enters it, which would be a good cause for BMW to exit Formula E competition altogether. Audi was concerned about the future of the series two years ago when Mercedes-Benz announced that it will leave the DTM after the 2018 season to concentrate on Formula E. When Mercedes withdrew, Audi’s motorsport director emphasized the importance of luring a new manufacturer to DTM if it were to carry on competing.
