You may either buy a ready-made black ABS plastic emblem that won’t crack or scratch and reveal the silver underneath, or you can remove the emblems, sand them down (you don’t have to remove all of the chrome plating), use some etch primer, then paint (as may happen if you paint your existing badge). When the time comes for me to sell the car, I’ll replace the silver one with a black one that I purchased off of Ebay.
