How Does Audi Side Assist Work

Blind spots may pose a threat. Two rear-mounted radar sensors that are part of the Audi side assist option continuously scan and track vehicles coming up from behind. The outer mirror housing will glow with a warning light if the system determines that a car has entered the blind spot.

Which models of Audi feature side assistance?

The Driver Assistance package is available on A8 and A8 L models, and it consists of the Top View Camera System, Audi pre sense plus (with pre sense rear), high beam assistant, adaptive cruise control with stop & go, Audi side assist, and Audi lane assist. While the Lane assist package is an additional option, the top and corner vision camera system, Audi side assist, and high-beam assistant are standard features on S8 models. Due to this, Audi’s adaptive cruise control with stop & go and pre sense plus are the only features included in the S8’s Driver Assistance package. The Driver Assistance package adds Audi pre sense plus (with pre sense rear), adaptive cruise control with stop & go, and Audi side assist with Audi lane assist to the A8 L W12’s standard top and corner vision camera system and high beam assist. Unfortunately, the Q7, TT and TT Roadster, TTS and TTS Roadster, and R8 and R8 Spyder do not offer Driver Assist or Driver Assistance Packages.
