Nissan customer service is aware of the problem, which requires a software update. You should schedule an appointment with a dealership. Do not allow them to persuade you to get a diagnostic test performed on it. I own a diesel with a 65-plate. Herein lies my issue. It has been going on for almost eight months.
For roughly 20 seconds, all three devices—Bluetooth, radio, and phone—go silent before coming back. Podcasts continue to play on the Bluetooth-connected phone (rather than stops).
This can happen every five seconds or not for around twenty minutes. The center console eventually glows brightly, shuts off, and restarts. If I follow the satnav, I will need to enter the address again, but it will already be saved from earlier trips. After rebooting, it sometimes immediately starts cutting out again, and other times it doesn’t.
Although the buildup to the reset seems to follow a pattern, the actual timing of it is unpredictable. Although my electronic engineer brain is telling me it’s overheating and tripping out, or a short (thus the bright display flash), I’m at a loss. Heat, time on, weather, type of journey/driving, I can’t spot anything.

Hi everybody, The radio system on my QQ Mk 2 1200 Tekna has started to sporadically go out for almost exactly 20 seconds at a time. Before restoring it, it will lose radio reception, phone Bluetooth connection, etc. On occasion, it results in a complete system shutdown and restart. It can occur ten times in an hour or only once. Any suggestions for a place to look first?
I looked through some older threads and discovered that I last updated my software two years ago. However, I tested by turning off Bluetooth and the issue persisted, so I don’t believe my phone is to blame.
Traffic updates will interrupt the radio with the update if the volume is set to silence rather than off, but you won’t hear it because the volume is so low.
Same issue here (1.5d 2016 model). I told my dealer the description below of the error; they looked into it and updated the software. However, the issue I continue to have is obviously unrelated to the upgrade. I’m waiting for their response to learn how they’ll fix it (still under warranty)
Media player keeps cutting out (sporadically); this usually happens after around 15-20 minutes. If it cuts off, whatever is playing (whether DAB, Bluetooth, USB, or CD) pauses for around 25 seconds before starting again. A “Station is now not available” notice is shown during this time on DAB. It subsequently becomes increasingly frequent for the unit to continue cutting out throughout the voyage; occasionally many times in quick succession. And it appears that the device “reboots” by turning itself totally off and restarting with the Nissan logo after about 8 or 9 cutouts.
My Nissan dealer informed me that they had been instructed not to provide any additional upgrades because they were ineffective, which seems to be pretty frequent. I have joined the waiting list for the new one that is on the way, but they are unable to tell me how long it will take. Three weeks ago, something occurred.
The Satnav also stops working when the radio starts up in this case. Not covered by warranty, so unless someone has some fantastic suggestions, it appears I’m stuck with it!
