The Nissan Qashqai will receive significant engine and interior changes later this year.
In order to compete with vehicles like the Toyota C-HR and Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, the new third-generation Nissan Qashqai will be made available in Australia in the second half of 2022.
The newest Qashqai has been on sale in the United Kingdom, where it is made, for over a year, but it has taken longer than expected to arrive in Australia due to a number of problems.
Nissan has been impacted by the lack of semiconductor chips needed to power onboard electronics in contemporary vehicles, just as many other manufacturers.

Snapshot
Nissan Australia has revealed that the third-generation 2022 Qashqai will debut in Australia later this year with four options.
Nissan had previously planned for the new Qashqai to debut in the first quarter, but has subsequently pushed the launch date back to the end of 2022, with the first models expected to hit driveways before the new year.
Nissan’s Qashqai e-Power hybrid is rumored to arrive locally next year with just one powertrain initially offered, a new 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol.
The new-generation Qashqai, which has already made its international debut, is built on the Nissan/Renault CMF-C platform and now has multi-link suspension to improve ride quality.
Australian Nissan Qashqai information revealed
Nissan’s brand-new small SUV debuts in the first quarter of 2019 with standard LED headlights and active safety features, while prices are anticipated to increase.
- There are four different models, all with LED headlights and active safety features.
- Cost has not yet been determined.
Early in 2022, the Nissan Qashqai will make its way to Australian showrooms, equipped as standard with a comprehensive active safety suite, a new turbocharged engine, and by the end of the year, a hybrid variant.
From the base-model Qashqai ST to the top-of-the-line Ti, Nissan’s new small SUV will be available in four different configurations in Australia. All of these models come with noticeably longer lists of standard features, including automatic LED headlights, touchscreens with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, digital instrument displays, and a nearly full complement of active safety systems.
Pricing has not yet been disclosed, but due to the new Qashqai’s larger body (in all directions), new architecture, and higher standard equipment levels, prices are probably going to increase by a few thousand dollars compared to the outgoing automatic model, which starts at $30,590 before on-road expenses and may even approach the $35,000 mark.
Following the elimination of the six-speed manual variation, which was the most expensive and was priced $2000 below the outgoing automatic and was available for $28,590 before on-road expenses, the price of entry into the wider Qashqai range is expected to rise even more.
As previously reported, a new 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine will power all Qashqai models at launch, replacing the outdated 2.0-liter non-turbo four-cylinder that was used in various forms in all petrol variants of the Qashqai (and its predecessor, the Dualis) for almost 15 years.
The combined fuel consumption is rated at 6.1L/100km, which is lower than the outgoing Qashqai’s 6.9L/100km. However, consumers looking for even better fuel efficiency will be able to choose the new E-Power hybrid option, which will be available in late 2022.
According to Nissan, all models now come standard with multi-link independent rear suspension and a faster steering rack for a crisper, more connected driving experience.
The Qashqai ST is the first model in the lineup, and it comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic LED headlights, an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7.0-inch instrument cluster display, a six-speaker sound system, and front and rear parking sensors, among other features. At the end of this article, there is a complete list of the typical equipment.
The entire range comes standard with a wide range of active safety features, including lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring (with braking), rear cross-traffic alert, traffic-sign recognition, forward and reverse autonomous emergency braking (with forward-facing intersection support), blind-spot monitoring (with braking), front center airbag, and more. These features are essential for achieving a five-star ANCAP safety rating.
With the Qashqai ST+, you can upgrade to 18-inch wheels, a 9.0-inch touchscreen with connected Android Auto and satellite navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay, a 360-degree camera, LED fog lights, and rain-sensing wipers.
The Qashqai Ti is the highest model in the lineup and adds a 10.8-inch head-up display, a panoramic glass sunroof, a 10-speaker Bose audio system, memory and massaging front seats, a hands-free power tailgate, ambient cabin lighting, semi-automated parking, and other features.
Nearer to the new 2022 Nissan Qashqai’s Australian debut in early 2022, with the E-Power hybrid following in late 2022, more information will be made available (likely as a 2023 model). This month, customer “reservations” will be available (September 2021).
Launch Date
Beginning in 2021, the all-new Nissan Qashqai will be delivered. The mild hybrid version starts at a price of GBP 24,555 in the UK and EUR 27,235 in Germany. This year’s e-Power version will come later in the summer. Later this year, the third-generation vehicle could make its way to Canada as the 2023 Nissan Qashqai.

Will a Nissan Qashqai be available in 2022?
The 2022 Qashqai is offered in three well-equipped trim levels: S, SV, and SL, as well as front-wheel drive (S and SV trim) and intelligent all-wheel drive variants. Qashqai is a vital vehicle in Nissan’s well-liked CUV portfolio, strategically positioned between the Nissan Kicks and Rogue.
The new Nissan Qashqai was released when?
Beginning in 2021, Nissan debuted the third generation of its small SUV, the Qashqai, displaying an entirely new design language for the Japanese company.
Nissan’s introduction of the Qashqai’s initial version astounded the market in 2007. For the Japanese automaker, who presented the tiny SUV as an alternative to the small station wagons, it was a breakthrough vehicle. Nissan is appreciated.
Is a new Nissan Qashqai on the way?
For 2022, Nissan has revised the Qashqai SUV with a greater equipment list that comes standard and a few minor cosmetic tweaks.
The modified vehicle has a dark grey rear bumper as well as new Nissan logos on the outside and interior. A 12.3-inch infotainment display is now included as standard on N-Connecta trim and higher, along with a 12.3-inch TFT instrument panel and an optional Glass Roof Pack for PS650.
Additionally, Nissan highlights a number of enhanced Connect Services that are now accessible to Qashqai buyers, including a digital owner’s manual, an Alexa personal voice assistant, and parking information.
The revised Qashqai is now available for purchase starting at PS25,505 for the base Visia trim; the price has increased by PS1,500 since the car’s initial launch. The PS28,105 Accenta Premium version offers either the same 138bhp 1.3-liter mild-hybrid petrol engine and manual transmission as the Qashqai Visia, or a more potent 156bhp 1.3-litre petrol engine and automatic transmission.
Although only available with the 156bhp motor and an automatic gearbox, the higher-spec N-Connecta and Tekna versions (starting at PS30,275 and PS32,815 respectively) can also be selected with a four-wheel drive system.
Range-topping Qashqai Tekna+ is no longer offered with the 138bhp petrol engine and now costs PS36,325, which is PS2,150 more than it did at launch. Instead, the 156 horsepower option is available as a four-wheel drive automatic or with front wheel drive and a manual transmission. This version has been updated to include standard LED front fog lamps.
This summer, the Qashqai will also be offered for order as an e-power hybrid, with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor working together to generate 188 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque. Nissan claims that this vehicle will have a fuel efficiency rating of 53.3 mpg and a CO2 emissions rating of 119. The Qashqai e-precise power’s price will be made public later this year.
How long does it take to get a new Nissan Qashqai?
The Nissan Qashqai, according to MotorEasy, has the shortest lead time at just 13 weeks. The projected delivery period for the VW T-Roc, Tesla Model 3, and BMW 3 Series is three months.
Due to the prolonged shortage of semiconductor computer chips, a car warranty provider has disclosed which models drivers may obtain the quickest. This week, we learned how an elderly man who had to wait more than a year for his PS37,000 Land Rover to be manufactured was left without transportation.
Michael Finnerty claimed that because of this problem, he was compelled to walk his grandchildren to school in the rain. The retiree, who spent 20 years working for Jaguar, placed an employee purchase order for the Discovery Sport in March 2021 through Jaguar Land Rover. However, despite paying a $1,000 deposit, he has yet to get a build date.
Therefore, many Brits are dealing with lengthy lead times for new automobiles due to the current chip scarcity and global events that are delaying the construction of new cars. These are the models that drivers may obtain the quickest, thanks to MotorEasy.
The Nissan Qashqai, according to MotorEasy, has the shortest lead time at just 13 weeks. Expect a three-month delivery period for the BMW 3 Series, Tesla Model 3 and VW T-Roc.
The Volvo XC40, which has a full year’s lead time, is the vehicle that drivers will have to wait the longest for.
A company representative said: “If you’re shopping for a new vehicle, the family-friendly SUV Nissan Qashqai is your best chance for a rapid turnaround, taking just 13 weeks from the time of purchase to delivery. The most recent Qashqai Visia model, which goes on sale at PS25,505, has a ton of onboard technology, more space, and rear doors that open to an optimum 85 degrees for child and infant seats.
“The fact that Nissan Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd. is headquartered in the North East of England, where vehicles spend less time traveling, may be to blame for the short delivery time. The Juke takes 26 weeks and the Leaf can take up to 34 weeks, thus the wait time does not apply to the entire Nissan lineup.”
The waiting list for cars is at an all-time high, said CEO Duncan McClure-Fisher. People are having to wait longer and longer for new cars to enter the road due to delays brought on by the ongoing global pandemic, worker absences, semiconductor shortages, and now the Ukraine conflict. In order to escape the wait, drivers can choose to lease a car, purchase a used automobile, or even continue to drive their present vehicle until the chip shortage is expected to lessen in 2023.”
Nissan Qashqai manufacturing location
Since December 2006, the Qashqai has been produced in the Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK (NMUK) facility in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, United Kingdom. It is the first vehicle that Nissan Design Europe, based in London, styled, with Nissan Technical Centre Europe (NTCE), based in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, overseeing engineering development.
In order to free up some production space in the UK plant and avoid import duties, parts of the 2014 second-generation Qashqai were to be produced in Nissan’s Russian plant in Saint Petersburg.
Nissans for 2022 have they already been released?
All grades continue to come standard with Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 suite of driver aids, which includes automated emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, cross traffic alert, rear automatic braking, automatic high lights, and lane departure warning. All bar the lowest S trim come equipped with ProPilot Assist, which includes lane centering and adaptive cruise control.
All other features of the significantly enhanced Rogue are carried over to 2022, with the exception of improved performance and efficiency. For 2022, the same four trim levels—S, SL, SV, and Platinum—will be offered. The FWD S will cost $27,875; the AWD Platinum will cost $39,155; both prices include a $1,175 delivery fee. For FWD models, the increase is $650, and for AWD models, it is $750.
While the Rogue is put together in Smyrna, Tennessee, the new engine is constructed in Nissan’s powertrain facility in Decherd, Tennessee. Beginning in December 2021, the new 2022 Nissan Rogue with the 1.5-liter VC-T will begin to be delivered.
