This customer got in touch with us because she didn’t like the sound coming from her 2015 Nissan Altima. The Kenwood Excelon KFC-X694 6×9 speakers were added to the rear and the Kenwood Excelon Reference XR-1700P speakers were added to the front since she wanted to completely rebuild the audio from the ground up but could only afford speakers at the moment.
To access the factory 6×9 tires, the back of the car had to be disassembled. The KFC-X694 speakers are a huge improvement over the bland Nissan speaker! To help channel the acoustic energy into the cabin and prevent it from getting trapped in the panel, we linked each speaker in the car with a FAST Ring.
The XR-1700Ps were a little bit more of a challenge because we had to put some larger wire into the doors and find a place for the crossovers. Since the customer expects to add amplification that will require improved wiring, this was done to avoid having to remove the door panels in the future!
Last but not least, we took off the dash panel concealing the tweeter’s new location and made an ABS mounting plate that fits over the factory screw points!
