Prior to writing, many thanks to
for your advice. Although it is very simple, I thought a more in-depth analysis of the procedure could help a few people.
*There are no tools needed; all that is required is some manual labor and clip fiddling.
1) The shifter nobs should be taken off as the first step, of course. On Trail and Pro model vehicles, that also applies to the transfer case.
2) Pulling up on the back cupholder is the next action. Put your right hand inside the center console, between the cupholder and the outside, and give it a firm tug. Almost all of the clips were undone by this.
3) I unplugged the rear window switch under the back cupholder before working my way up to remove the final few clips near the transfer case. The center console should be able to slide out once the remaining clips have been released.
Locating the four clips at the transmission trim region is the next step. One can be found on each corner. Simply pull out on the tabs to raise the trim.
5) The clear plastic shield is secured by a tab of a similar design underneath the trim that was recently removed. After doing that, you may peel the rubber dust cover off to see the plastic underneath.
6) The next step, if you are cleaning this area as I am, would be to grab a moist wipe to get to every spot that needs to be cleaned. My main motive for cleaning was to remove some soda residue that had gotten sticky. Avoid touching or removing any grease from the shifter’s surface or the shaft that connects it to the transmission.
7) Reinstallation is the opposite of what you just done. Before you press everything down, connect the rear window switch.
Here are a few useful images that were captured throughout the procedure. Ideally, you won’t need this thread until you’re adding switches, but even then, it won’t be difficult.
Can a car’s center console be replaced?
There are numerous varieties of aftermarket center consoles and accessories to pick from in a big planet. In most cases, aftermarket center consoles are an addition to your car’s console rather than a replacement. For your center console, which was fitted at the factory, you can still discover a ton of parts and accessories.
Complete Aftermarket Center Consoles
You can modify some free spaces in your vehicle by using aftermarket center consoles, which come in a range of sizes and designs. These typically sit on the ground or a chair.
For example, the Pilot Contractor Console can be placed immediately on a truck’s bench seat. These practical cabin modifications can be a good choice for you because many bench-seat cabins don’t have a central console at all.
Another illustration is the TSI Clutter Catcher Minivan Console, which fits in a minivan or SUV between the captain’s chairs. Adding a stand-alone aftermarket center console to the back row of your minivan might give additional passengers a front-row experience if you don’t need the extra room to move between the seats of the second row.
There are many different features available with aftermarket bench center consoles. The RAMPAGE PRODUCTS locking center console has two storage spaces with locks and cup holders for the front and back rows if you need more cup holders for your 19761995 Jeep Wrangler.
