The 2002 Toyota Camry needs more of the same qualities that made it the best in the first place if it wants to maintain its position as the best. And the Camry lineup for 2002 is larger. The new Camry is larger and taller than the outgoing model and is built on the same all-new platform as Toyota’s Highlander SUV and the ES300 luxury sedan from Lexus. Expanding by 2 inches to 107.1 inches, wheelbase. However, the overall length only grows by six hundredths of an inch to 189.2. The sheet metal covering the new platform is smoother and more arrow-shaped. There is a strong family resemblance between the ES 300 and its larger brother Avalon. The new Camry is clean, attractive, safe, and has a lot more personality than the previous model, albeit it is still not particularly rousing or stunning to look at.
