I had air lift bags in the back, and the FJ easily towed my bass boat. But coming from a 2005 V8 full crew cab Tundra, there was a huge difference.
Especially in South Florida where an overpass can be the highest point, if you’re pulling your boat. Definitely, I would install a trans cooler. I’ve since sold the boat, but I’m looking at the new Key West 18′ with the YAMAHA F115 and am getting offshore boat fever. If and when I buy it, I’ll be installing a trans cooler in the FJ.
It all depends on how the boat is positioned on the trailer and how the truck drives.
