Excellent hillclimb performance allowed it to maintain 90 km/h while only applying half of the throttle. On the other hand, while the CVT auto looked for the power range, engine noise was rather obtrusive.
Similar to that, engine braking down the test hill was amazing. Although I had to make room for the Caravelair’s override brakes, the RAV4’s ability to slow down (using the manual mode of the CVT auto) was encouraging.
