On February 5, a user with the username Hyundai Pakistan Official tweeted a request for people to “remember the sacrifices” made by people in Kashmir and to unite with them as they “fight for independence.” Facebook users also shared the same article.
The tweet and the Facebook post were quickly removed, but not before they were picked up by users of social media who criticized the business for its statements expressing support for Kashmir. Pakistan celebrates February 5 as “Kashmir Solidarity Day” in an effort to show support for the Union territory’s separatist cause.

In Ulsan, South Korea, Hyundai runs the largest integrated auto manufacturing facility in the world, with a 1.6 million-unit production capacity per year. Overview of Hyundai
Hyundai’s automobiles continue to offer customers a high degree of performance and contentment at a competitive price. Every vehicle in the portfolio reflects Hyundai’s rise as an automaker whose products successfully compete with automobiles from across the world in terms of technology, quality, styling, and refinement.
In the United States, Hyundai originally introduced its subcompact Excel model in 1986. Few Americans at the time were familiar with Hyundai or its products. Since then, Hyundai has modernized and increased its vehicle lineup in the United States, and it now represents more over 2% of the domestic auto market.
Hyundai now sells a whole lineup of automobiles, ranging from the diminutive Accent to the prestigious Santa Fe sport utility vehicle to the opulent XG350 sedan. The vehicles were created solely by Hyundai Motor Company, and Hyundai-designed and -engineered engines and transmissions are installed in them.
Hyundai India apologizes as boycott requests increase
After Hyundai’s Pakistani partner expressed support for those living in Kashmir’s disputed region, calls for a boycott of Hyundai were made.
Hyundai Motor Company of South Korea expresses sincere regret for any offense caused to Indians as a result of a “unauthorized” tweet sent from the account of its Pakistani partner expressing support for the residents of the contentious Kashmir region.
Hyundai Motor Company stated in a Tuesday tweet that it has a “business policy of not commenting on political or religious matters in any specific region.”
The business said that its independently-owned distributor in Pakistan “misused the Hyundai brand identification” by posting “unauthorized” messages about Kashmir on social media using its accounts.
“We sincerely apologize for any offense that our unauthorized social media activity may have given the people of India. We have established procedures to stop a recurrence in the future, “Samsung added.
Hyundai issued an apology after receiving boycott requests from hundreds of social media users in India, which regards all of Kashmir as being a part of its territory. The company needs to apologize, according to the social media users, for being insensitive to India’s position in the long-running conflict.
With close to 500,000 vehicles sold in the nation during the most recent fiscal year and over a million units exported, Hyundai is India’s second-largest automaker behind Maruti Suzuki.
After Pakistan observed its annual Kashmir Solidarity Day on Saturday, the dispute broke out on Sunday. On Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, posts from Hyundai’s partner, the Nishat Group, honored what it called the sacrifices made by Kashmiris fighting for self-determination.
The Nishat Group, the biggest corporate conglomerate in Pakistan, did not respond to a request for comment from Reuters.
Not just Hyundai received calls for a boycott. On Tuesday, calls for boycotts of a number of major international companies—including Pizza Hut Inc., Domino’s Pizza Inc., and Yum Brands Inc.’s KFC—trended on social media in India. This was in response to some of these companies’ affiliates in Pakistan posting support for those living in the disputed region of Kashmir.
“We honor and respect India, and stay firm in our commitment to serving all Indians with pride,” KFC India tweeted in response to the post on Monday.
India and its adversary Parts of Kashmir are under Pakistani administration, but both countries claim the entire Himalayan region. Since the beginning of an armed uprising against New Delhi’s rule in Indian-administrated Kashmir in 1990, tens of thousands of civilians have perished.
India accuses Pakistan of supporting the uprising in Kashmir, a claim that Islamabad refutes. Pakistan claims that it only offers the Kashmiri people moral and diplomatic support.
