Currently placing an order and have a question regarding what high gloss shadowline outside trim is. There isn’t a lot of information available. I like the white on black contrast because I’m going with alpine white SE. Do high gloss shadowline roof rails come in black color?
I’m not sure if the roof liner is “basic black” or high-gloss, but it is black. If the dealer information is to be believed, a high-gloss roof liner is an additional choice.
The roof liner was not a high-gloss standard feature on my last E91 M-sport with a black high-gloss shadowline.
Okay, however my dealer claims that this only applies to the window frames and that the high gloss shadowline doesn’t turn the roof rails black. Am I understanding this correctly?
All windows and the B pillars have high gloss black (piano black-like) trim called Shadowline. It also covers the bottom third of the mirrors and the “triangle” of finish surrounding the side view mirrors. Depending on the trim level, a matt black or chrome finish would be the standard (28i vs. 35i).
The roof rails would still be satin silver even if they are not a part of the Shadowline trim.

What is a high gloss individual shadow line. A 17 with a unique exterior color is what I’m looking at; the Indv shadow line is underneath the comp package.
I think the window frames are black and glossy. It would be chrome if not for this. The front and side grills, as well as the m4 badge, are included in the comp package.
Right, that’s option code 760, which, although not universally accepted, is the norm in the US and the majority of other regions.

The black trim around the windows is common; my 2015 M also had black trim. Shadow line, if there is such a thing, is just the blacking out of the front grill, side grill, back emblem, and black chrome exhaust tips. Though many people do change to blacked out everything on competition pkg it comes with, when I received my new M that’s all it has. There’s nothing to worry about just another method to stand out from non CP cars, tho I thought it would be some strip or something before as well.

My 2016 M235i CONVERTIBLE’s decoded data includes the S760 “High Gloss Shadow Line” option.
What does it matter that I don’t have window frames? the tops of the doors, I suppose? Do the mirrors also experience this?
I need to get euro aspherical mirror glass, however I’m not sure what part number I presently have for mirror glass, and Realoem provides various types of glass for vehicles with and without S760, which is why I’m asking (a)
The part numbers for the Euro mirror glass (split field on the driver side, spherical with no warning sign on the passenger side), which I got from Schmiedmann for my 2017 M240i coupe with S760, are as follows:
I mistakenly believed that the shadow line encircled the tops of the doors and the base of the fabric ceiling. The faux chrome option was the default on my UK-model 2016 M235i, but I had the option to change it to gloss black to match the interior trim’s high gloss finish, which I did. Your point regarding mirrors suggests that this also applies to the high gloss black utilized as the mirrors’ bases. I’m not entirely sure, though, and I’m not sure why the trim applied to the base would affect the mirror glass. I’ll try to locate my original, in-depth order parts list and see if it helps to make things clearer.

However, there is no mention of the Shadowline also altering the type of mirror glass.
After picking up my AW 5dr M135i today, I didn’t realize until this evening that the front and rear windows’ outlines are made of black rubber rather than black plastic.
The “Exterior trim, High-gloss Shadowline” option is a free standard option and cannot be deselected, according to the BMW UK configurator. Additionally, M Sport variants come with it.
High-gloss Black is used for the mirror base, mirror frame, and front and rear side window trim.
The surround was plastic rather than rubber on my old 1M, my friend’s E92 M3, and even my old 330D M Sport.

The rubber on windows is still rubber. The vertical B pillar panels and the separators between the quarterlights and rear windows are the parts with high gloss. the mirrors, too. See images. None of the insects in the group are dead.
It appears to be a five door thing. Only coupes and three-door vehicles have plastic instead of rubber. Shame.
I looked at some old 330D pictures, and they, too, were made of rubber. I suppose it’s because, in contrast to the 5 doors, the coupe and 3dr doors are frameless.
The front glass of the three-door vehicle likely has a rubber covering as well, with the rear window being made of hard, polished plastic.

I firmly believe that only M or M Performance vehicles, such as an M5 or M50d, should bear the M emblem. Hopefully BMW will start to use it more selectively as opposed to everywhere.
Anything with a M on it sells quickly and for a lot of money when I part out E36s M3s on the side.
Does anyone know the exact measurements of this M Performance badge? I was considering purchasing a gloss black “genuine” one from iND, but they don’t offer it for sale in the G05 category. If the dimensions are the same as the E82 1M version, does anyone know?
shiny black My badge measures roughly 54 mm wide by 20 mm high. I suppose this is the stock size; you may look through Mystro’s thread to find out for sure (I think he listed the dimensions).
I’m grateful. I’ll order those tomorrow from my neighborhood dealer. I intend to wrap the roof and black out all insignia, the front grill, and the exhaust tips.
I think the color of part number 51-14-8-058-882 is Cerium Grey. Not Gloss Black, it is not. I’m currently considering whether to purchase these from the dealer and have them put properly on my M50i.
Or at the very least, they ought to have distinctive logos that would make more sense and make the people who pay more feel more honored.
