Peter Kittle Motor Company, based in South Australia, recently acquired Markwell’s Auto Group, a multi-franchise vehicle reseller, and so launched its first foray into Victoria.
In Mildura, on the Murray in north-western Victoria, Peter Kittle, which already had three locations in South Australia and its headquarters in Alice Springs, where it was founded in 1988, acquired Markwell’s BMW, Mazda, and Toyota businesses.
“I sold because I thought I wasn’t qualified to take the company to the next level and a number of other reasons, including impending changes in the sector.
“I believe that Peter Kittle and Andrew Kittle, who serves as CEO, are the best candidates to lead the company through the changes.
“According to Mr. Kittle, we have a broad strategy for expansion and we consider strong brands.
“It was a logical extension for us because our family business is run in a manner similar to Rod’s.
The Toyota, BMW, and Mazda brands have been enlarged by Mr. Markwell, who has worked in sales for Toyota for a total of 30 years. Over the course of 15 years, he developed unique showrooms for each, grew staff sizes from 19 to 82, and won two Toyota Dealer of the Year awards in addition to two President Awards and five BMW medals. A significant pre-delivery center and Mildura Toyota Used Cars are both part of the sale to Peter Kittle.
The Mildura Off Road Ironman 44, Outback Can-Am, and Outback Trays and 44 are three other businesses owned by Mr. Markwell in addition to Budget Rent-a-Car, which is based at Mildura Airport. He stated that carrying on with and expanding these businesses is his next chapter.
The Toyota Hothouse and Aussie Hoops programs, which they have supported for six years, have been particularly important to Markwell’s Auto Group’s involvement in the community as a strong sponsor of local youngsters. Additionally, it participates in the young mothers’ Zoe Support Foundation.
Mr. Markwell expressed his pride in the Peter Kittle Motor Company’s decision to continue funding those initiatives.
The 1988-founded Peter Kittle group now has dealerships in Mildura in addition to Para Hills locations in Adelaide, Port Adelaide, Port Lincoln, and Alice Springs. Toyota, Holden, Mitsubishi, and Mazda are franchises. Added are Mazda, Toyota, and BMW in Mildura.
Additionally, it owns RedStar Car Carriers, which runs all around Adelaide, and a collision repair shop in Para Hills, Adelaide.
