For your truck’s insignia to begin heating up, leave it out in the sun for a few hours.
Get some fishing line or dental floss. (Advised while applying the lettering to prevent scratching the paint.)
Simply heat the emblem for a few seconds, insert the floss or string, and begin prying up pieces of the symbol. Then, repeat the process with the heat gun or hair dryer, and the glue will begin to separate.
Till the insignia is gone, repeat the same procedure. Once that, Goo-gone or Goof Off (I think that’s what it’s called) works well to remove the leftover glue. Just make sure to combine it with a lot of water so that after you scrub it, your black plastic piece at the back doesn’t become discolored.
