How To Turn Off BMW Warning Sound?

Is it possible to turn off all the warning noises that play while you’re driving? For instance, what happens when I unbuckle my seatbelt before turning off the engine or when the boot lid isn’t closed completely? They are making me crazy!

You can lower the signal tone for all alerts in the general vehicle settings in the Idrive menu system. Despite the fact that the factory-preconfigured volume is a little too loud, I believe it is acceptable to receive a warning if the boot is open. I therefore modified it.

I suppose vehicles without the Idrive system can also have these parameters modified.

I tried using the iDrive to dial down the volume, but it is unable to turn it off!! I can’t stand any of those noises: when the temperature drops below 0 degrees Celsius, when the cruise control turns off, when I don’t fasten my seatbelt, when the boot doesn’t close, etc. I intended to turn off the park assist sound as I also have that in addition to the iDrive screen, but it also seems impossible. Every time one of the aforementioned situations occurs, my young child wakes up.

A related question is: Does anyone know how to permanently turn off the cabin light while unlocking the doors? While you try to have someone sleep in the car, it seems like the cabin light button only allows you to turn the light off when it is already on, but the next time you open the door, the light comes back on.

The BMW computer, ISTAP, has the ability to disable the driver-side seatbelt warning. Simply visit your dealer and request that they turn off the seat belt memory and code the modification.

Turning the wanring volume down is the only way to avoid hearing the boot warning.

I recently received my 2012 135i coupe, and I’ve already noticed how loud the turn signal and other interior whistles and alerts are. Is there a method to change the volume of these items? I searched RTFM but couldn’t find anything on this. Any advice would be greatly valued. I hope I can decline their offers.

You can probably alter it in iDrive (I’m unable to tell you where because I don’t have it) or in the “professional” head unit.

It is an option in the head unit of my non-iDrive car on the same page (scroll right, second page) as the bass, treble, balance, fader, etc.

That said, it’s still obnoxiously loud even on the lowest level. I’m thinking of using a bespoke coding hack from a nearby aftermarket shop to disable some of them.

You might try adjusting the volume when the chime is ringing even though I highly doubt it can be done by the user. The volume of Navi voice directions will be adjusted using this technique.

The gong level can be changed on my non-iDrive vehicle’s head unit. It’s difficult to offer advice because the OP hasn’t indicated whether he has iDrive.

For non-idrive devices, the “gong” volume setting is located on the bass/treble/fader second page; simply scroll over. What remains to be seen is if it actually adjusts. I’ve set mine to the same loudness both at the lowest and highest attainable volume levels. Perhaps I should take it to BMW, who can fix it. (I also own a 2011 135)

The volume controls for the “gong” are reportedly deactivated in US-spec cars, according to an item I recently read in the search. All day long, you can change the settings, but nothing happens.:-/ This appears to be true for the non-idrive cars, though I’m not sure if it applies to the idrive variants as well.

335, currently undergoing warranty service at the dealer. My dog triggered the passenger seat sensor, so I’d like them to turn off the seatbelt chime.

Other producers offered the option to “deprogram” the chime. On a 2011 3 Series, is it possible to deprogram the seatbelt chime?

Yeah… Although it does work, the buckle is then just where she curls up for sleep. Additionally, my seat cover won’t rap over the seatbelt, so it will ultimately become dirty.

The actual cause may be that I never consider it until I’m driving and the dreadful chime begins to play.

Why would you allow your dog to ride in your brand-new vehicle? I simply don’t understand; perhaps this is because I’ve never had a dog of my own? I’m sure you could code it

Funny thing is, my friend’s dog has left my car cleaner than my actual friend. Oh, right.

Seatbelt clips on eBay will be substantially less expensive. Unless you want a large number of items to be coded, it will likely cost $50 to have someone code it at a shop.

Doesn’t it really turn off after a certain amount of time? Although I acknowledge it’s longer than most automobiles, my 2007 has one that turns off. (Even though I normally use a seatbelt, I tested it out out of curiosity)

I disabled the chimes for the front seatbelts. I don’t need to be reminded to fasten my belt. It’s wonderful to get them off. Visit b m w coding.com today.

What does my BMW’s beeping sound mean?

Okay, so this is the second of my three questions. My car occasionally beeps strangely when I’m driving and once while I’m parked.

“beep…beep…beep…bbbeeeepppp…” And that’s it; nothing else appears on the display; nothing at all. Initially, I thought it might be low gasoline, but it’s actually doing it with a full tank of gas. Lane departure? No, it wasn’t that either because it had previously occurred while I was on the phone while seated in the garage. What the heck is this noise?

The hourly reminder is it. It reminds you with brief beeps at the top of each hour. You can disable it. It is in the setting if you have i-drive.

Until I discovered what it was, it drove me mad as well. The following is an excerpt from my manual:

Space Grey/Black Leather 2011 X3 xDrive35i F25, Premium, Cold Weather, BMW Apps, Sirius, and Technology packages are available. BMW Member of CCA (WindyCity Chapter). old automobiles 2007 E90 335i 06 750i E65 (CPO) (bought used but had problematic iDrive so sold it to get 7-series)

The beeps are so weak that at first I believed I was going mad. Once it started happening frequently, I believed I had to include it on my list of issues. It’s stupid to leave the hourly alarm’s default settings on.

I believed my car, which I had only three weeks ago, had a computer or electrical problem, which would have made me the target of my family’s jeers as they all suggested I get the Lexus IS because of its higher reliability.

Thank you so much for letting me know that it was only a setting on iDrive that I might have accidentally changed. I love this thread more than any other.

When I lock my BMW, why does it beep?

Is it possible to make the 1er beep when you click the lock button on your key? When you double-click the lock button on your key, most automobiles will beep to let you know you’ve locked them.

You may set the car to chirp when locked and unlocked if you have the factory alarm and iDrive. The dealer will need to program the computer to enable the chirp if you have the alarm but do not have iDrive. The reply is no if you don’t have the alarm.

Simply said, I prefer the assurance that my car is locked while I am too far away to hear the doors close. In a parking lot in Los Angeles, one cannot leave an unlocked one-er. Haha.

So I am aware that the car is secure. However, after moving 25 feet away, I remember and return to check. I doubt a honking horn will change that, somehow!

On a BMW, how do you reset the red exclamation mark?

Start the engine, then move through the obc until you find the word RESET next to the “flat tyre” sign. To choose, press the stalk’s tip. A tick should display after about 5 seconds of pressing and holding; just drive away, and it will reset itself. Don’t wait for any confirmation because there are no other signs that it has done it.

How can I stop the sounds from text messages?

Note: The carrier may have added additional text messaging apps to some Android devices. These instructions apply to Android’s built-in messaging app.

  • Open the “Messaging” app by tapping the app slider on the Home screen.
  • Select “Settings” from the “Menu” option after tapping the main list of message threads.
  • Then, click “Notifications.”
  • Choose “Sound,” and then either “None” or the text message tone. To enable or disable vibration, choose “Vibrate”.

On my BMW, how can I delete messages?

Is there a way to remove a text message from your screen? I try to remove them from my phone, but they remain on the screen. I’ve attempted using Office, but I can’t get a “delete message” to appear. If it helps, I have a Motorola Atrix 4G through AT&T.

Every time your phone and bluetooth pair, the car should update or refresh the list. Old messages are gone from mine when it refreshes, and it just displays the texts that are now on my phone. The phone book is comparable in this regard. Tomorrow, I’ll check it and let you know the outcome. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S II.

I appreciate the support. such as your avatar. the Eagle F-15. none superior. I worked as a K-9 handler for the air force for eight years before moving on to McDonnell Douglas. There is nothing quite like watching a brand-new Eagle complete a takeoff with maximum performance and an Immelman at the conclusion. Drive it like you stole it, as they say.

Removing a message

Delete all correspondence:

It’s encouraging to hear from another Airman! The F-15 is a fantastic airplane. I spent 18 years working with the F-15E, and I still get excited whenever I see one zoom down the runway! Jets are easier to reason with than people, so I have a lot of respect for the Security Forces.

The specific option mentioned in the manual wasn’t anywhere to be found, either. After I deleted all of the messages from my phone, I found an option to remove all service messages. I selected that option, and after the screen asked if I wanted to delete all messages, I clicked OK, clearing out all of my messages. I’m still unsure if I simply struck lucky or the appropriate buttons…

I hope your efforts with yours are going well. The next time my phone connected to the car, I did notice that simply cleaning away the messages on my phone reduced the number of messages in iDrive.

I believe the issue might be resolved. After removing the phone from my list, I installed it again. It appears to be fixed. All is well thus far. Many thanks for your assistance.
