- Take the panel off. The door handle cable should be freed by removing the two wire harnesses, pulling up and away from the door while grasping it about six inches from the top on either side.
- Take the mirror off. Remove the two nuts on the automobile side of the mirror base after disconnecting the harnesses attaching your mirrors to the memory module. You should be good to go after lifting and completely removing your old mirror!

I need assistance uninstalling the outdated components so I can perform a clean install on my automobile. Although I removed the tape, the remnants are enormous.
Are the back’s square holes for the BMW factory support bracket the same as those on the M performance lip?

Purchase some GooGone at Home Depot or Walmart. Spray it on, and after a short while, the glue will start to dissolve. Though most likely some elbow grease will still be needed.
A can of 3M adhesive remover is available from Autozone. works fantastic. On any clear coat surface, however, DO NOT LET IT SIT! However, it will quickly remove anything that is firmly adhered on. To prevent scratching the carbon fiber section, I would blue painters tape it up. I would then sit down for an hour and remove the glue with my 3M adhesive remover and several towels.
I used WD-40 to remove the residue from my lip spoiler and, let me tell you, it was a PITA. I ended up with two enormous blisters.
Thank you for the advice. I used Goo Gone on it for a few hours, then scraped the residue off with a plastic putty knife. It was cleaned after being scrubbed for a further hour using WD40-soaked towels.
