They are excellent; even the majority of the narrow gravel semi-farm roads in the Hills are depicted. Every three months or so, I download a new one because they are updated often. My current version, which is from December 2017, has a color problem where some bodies of water are depicted in white rather than blue. This can be misleading if you’re looking at the map and trying to spot a dam or lake that isn’t there. On older maps, it worked fine, thus it might already have been fixed.
I use a Mac and sell Garmin GPS equipment for cars, but your Zumo should function similarly.
Choose “generic routable” at the top of that website page; it is the default;
Select Australia from the “Oceania” pull-down menu under “choose predefined nation”;
They will download to your computer when you click on the gmapsupp file for the GPS and the general Basecamp file for your OS, if you also want those;
After downloading them, connect your GPS to a USB port, then wait until the Garmin folder appears on your desktop.
then, based on the capability of your GPS:
In order to replace the Garmin map on older devices with a capacity of only about 300 MB, you must delete the current gmapsupp.img file in the root directory and replace it with the downloaded one.
Copy the gmapsupp.img file into the Map folder after opening it; this preserves the OSM map while adding the Garmin one.
Disconnect the GPS and go to Settings/Maps. Tick the OSM map instead of the Garmin one in the setting that allows you to choose the map you wish to use (myMaps or a similar option).
On a Mac, unzip the file, open the Library folder in your user home folder, navigate to Application Support/Garmin/Maps, and drag the generic routable.gmap file into the folder; on a PC, I’m not sure what to do, but given it’s an exe file, it might be a self installer; to install the Basecamp map;
Open Basecamp and choose the OSM map from the Maps menu without the GPS attached.

Update for Garmin’s Navigator V
Can somebody update the Navigator V’s map to version 2020.20? It was the version made public on July 17, 2019.
I’ve tried several times, and each time the GPS unit is turned off when the download has reached 51.8%.
When I tried again after the first failed attempt, the download succeeded.
What error message did I receive? Googling it The download is clean, as has already been mentioned. Do you lack memory? Do you have a lot of MP3s or films on your NAV V? Do you have the most recent Garmin installer/updater on your computer? The map 20.20 has been available for some time.
I have 6 GB of my available 7 GB of memory accessible, and the update is 5.82 GB, so I should be good there.
The Garmin was connected to the computer up until the error, at which point it was detached, which is why it is showing Not Connected even though the error doesn’t really mention anything.
Use MapInstall, one of BaseCamp’s choices, to install the update to your Garmin after first installing it on your PC. I have to update my Montana in this manner. You might be able to use it on your NavV. My third Garmin (a Nuvi 2739) occasionally disconnects during lengthy upgrades without warning. On the Nuvi, the two-step procedure always yields results. I believe it is related to the protracted delays that Garmin Express has while downloading files from the Garmin Site to the PC and finally the NavV. There are times when the NavV will disconnect if there is a lengthy pause. (Again, using MapInstall to transfer the map update to the NavV solves this issue for me without a hitch.)
When I tried it once, it crashed without installing. It worked perfectly when I tried it again a few weeks later. I’ve experienced the same problem with multiple additional Garmin devices, but there was never adequate capacity. The Garmin update procedure might be made better overall.
While the update itself may be 5.82 GB in size, I think your issue may be that it frequently requires more free space than the actual file size to perform an update. Perhaps as a result of the fact that not all files are removed prior to the update. This problem seems to affect Garmin more than other brands.
I advise you to check the unit to see if there are any files you don’t need, then remove them. Usually, you can remove objects like language files and other such items from your computer. I do this for all of my devices because they normally respond more quickly when they have more free memory.

How can my BMW Navigator be updated?
BMW suggests conducting a map update every six months, or at the very least once a year, and typically releases up to three new versions of its products each year.
The head unit and the nation have a significant impact on how frequently new releases occur. For instance, more recent iDrives like the NBT Evo ID5/ID6 can receive two or three updates a year, whereas ENTRYNAV may have to wait up to a year for a new BMW navigation update. Even the more recent navigation systems might have to wait in some areas where new map updates aren’t even issued annually.
By entering your VIN on the BMW map update page, you can quickly verify the most recent update for your BMW sat nav. You will then get a list of regions that are compatible with your iDrive, along with years and numbers that represent the quarter in which the update was released.
How can I verify the version of my BMW map? Navigate to the navigation view on your iDrive, select Settings, and then scroll down to Navigation system version. The region, version, and year of your current map are displayed. It’s time to update if it’s older than a year.

Should you update the navigation system in your car?
HI CAR TALK, My 2015 Ford Explorer’s factory GPS can now be updated, according to a letter I got. I thought that a factory-installed GPS would update itself automatically. Is it a scam or should I pay the $150 for the update? – Thom
The majority of factory-installed GPS systems do not automatically update. Over-the-air updates are becoming more prevalent now, but they weren’t available when you purchased your 2015 Explorer.
And considering that the GPS system likely cost you $1,000, you’d assume that updates would be provided without charge. Not so.
Roads haven’t changed all that much since then. However, streets are renamed, bridges are replaced, and traffic patterns are altered. Roads are diverted or changed for safety reasons.
Therefore, if you frequently use the navigation system and frequently drive in uncharted territory, it’s generally worth updating every four to five years.
Making the update by yourself might be a pain. That’s not a bad price if your Ford dealer will install the upgrade for you for $150. We’ve witnessed far worse.
You have the option to switch to a superior, cost-free mapping system if you’re not committed to the built-in GPS. We’re referring to Google Maps, which is accessible and updated frequently on any smartphone. If your car has Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, which displays your phone’s screen on the dashboard, it is the simplest to operate.
If you don’t have such technology, though, a good phone holder that raises the phone into your line of sight while you’re driving will let you get near to the goal. With a long gooseneck to raise the phone to eye level, there are some really good phone holders that clip to your air vents and others whose base rests in your cup holder.
According to our observations, Google Maps is current, simple to use, and incorporates the most precise traffic information into its navigational instructions.
You get to decide, Thom. However, it might be due for an update any way.
