My 1998 528i’s rear window regulator is definitely broken. I am mostly concerned with raising the window in the near future. Is there a way to do this manually now that it is entirely down?
Each of my rear windows has the same issue. Simply remove the door panel, then raise the glass. The window won’t go down unless you push it down by itself while pushing the down button, but when you hit the up button, the window will go up by itself. You can pull the cable stopper and try to put it back in its slot or place it under the wing that the glass is set in.
